Does anyone know much about this, particularly whether the amount of work you can do without it affecting your benefit are the same as for regular IB?

I'm trying to find out for someone who would ultimately like to work but is worried about trying voluntary work, work experience or a Saturday job in case it affects his eligibility for IB in Youth.

The rules are the same as for IB. The only reason why it's IB 'in Youth' is to take away the NI contribution element of it.
