Two weeks ago I was waiting for my normal bus at 6.06am Sicey ave/hatfield house lane when after waiting well after it should have come I saw it turn off Hatfield House lane and go down Sicey ave.
This bus had come from the garage and gone up Barnsley rd totally ignoring the route. Every one who normally used it was late like me having to wait for the next one.
I phoned up and spoke to a "Manager" who agreed it was wrong and was going to write to me.
Guess what??? still waiting.
The same bus didn't turn up again twice last week.
I don't know the law on buses but surely they shouldn't advertise a route they aren't going to follow.
I rely on the bus to get me to Greystones rd before 7am.
I'm most mad about not getting a reply when I made a formal complaint.
I know you might think I'm being picky but....

not atall i think you have a right to complain, it's dam right disgusting and im sure their profit will take a dive if they start to miss out parts of routes

This is a ps.
I was told by yesterdays driver that they are so short of drivers it's a lucky dip if the bus comes or not.
This is not very proffessional in my opinion if this is truly the case.

 Stagecoach

They run our services in Rainworth and i have to say it's the norm to see missing busses, Late ones, foul mouth drivers, busses that break down in the middle of nowhere.

Our sevice dosn't start till 8am and ends at 10pm :loopy: and after 5pm and weekends it's one bus per hour. I made sure the job i'm at was in walking distance simply because of Stagecoach's laxed attitude to running the shedule.

Your lot up in Sheffield wouldn't moan about 1st if you spent aweek riding our delapidated system and busses older then the drivers.

yeah? the part of bristol i used to live in there was 3 busses a day to the station and a train every 2 hours, which went on an old line and the carrigdes always smelt of **** and they were 1970's carriages

when i came to sheffield and saw the tram for me it was a technological breakthrough!

They are 20 odd drivers short at eccelsfield at the moment and they are bringing drivers in from other local stagecoach depots to try to prevent this. They are also sending drivers up from places such as cambridge, so its harly suprising they are struggling to remember the correct route, Iknow I would struggle in a city that was new to me.

Apparently 30 drivers were due to leave Stagecoach at Ecclesfield last week to go to first. There should be more leaving this week which will cause major disruptions to the services run out of there.

Suprising what an advert offering 8 quid an hour will do stuck in the back window of First bus vehicles what will happen if Stagecoach comes back with an offer of say £10 per hour for drivers it will be like playing musical chairs.

If it's true that they only pay the drivers £5.50 per hour, I'm surprised the exodus isn't greater than the flight from Egypt.

It is not infrequent for drivers to be asking passengers for directions in the hope of sticking to the route. If a passenger doesn't know then they can go the wrong route and miss stops. Which is a ridiculous state of affairs, but I don't know if they are deliberately ignoring the route. If you complain you just get to speak to someone whose job is to say "sorry" without doing anything about it.

Route 72A has transferred to the Rawmarsh depot and the 265 route has transferred to the Barnsley depot because of staff shortages.

Ecclesfield had 11 drivers leave or leaving shortly. Apparently the old Yorkshire Traction company treated them better.

Your bus may be missing out because there are drivers at the Sheffield depots from other parts of the Stagecoach empire so will be unfamiliar with Sheffield road names etc.

You have to give First group some credit regarding the competition at present. At the same time they reduced the fares on some sevices to compete with stagecoach they Put adverts up £8 per hour for if you have a PCV licence, so thus causing stagecoach a staff shortage, which then effects their services .

Just read the comments about drivers not knowing the route.
If they had explained the problem perhaps I wouldn't have felt so let down.
By the way it was bang on time today.
