As I was coming back from Manchester this evening, at around 20:45 just past the Ranmoor Inn (on the way back) I saw an accident.

It looked like an estate car and possibly a landrover had collided. It can't have happened long before.
I stopped to see if my meager first aid or mobile phone would be of any help, but there were already about 10 people from stopped cars helping and an ambulance had been called. There was nothing I could do so I squeezed past on the other carriage as did several other cars and carried on.

I just wondered if anyone has heard or seen any details about what happened and if the people involved were okay.

hey sorry i havent heard anything.
as for people stopping that is a novelty these days. my friend came off her bike and people just drove around her whilst she was lying in the road. these people included police officers.

several cars were already stopped, and I doubted there was anything i could do, but it seemed polite to ask.

If i'd been the first on the scene i'd have been scared witless, but called the services and tried to remember my first aid training.
I couldn't clearly see what had happened, but the landrover was sideways across the carriageway, the estate car was in the carriageway, slewed slightly but the front was badly damaged.
Makes you think. I'd been driving carefully anyway as there was still some snow in patches and the temperature was below 0.

Can you tell me what the Ranmoor Inn has to do with the Snake Pass.

sorry, misinformation from my girlfriend.
It's the New Norfolk Inn.
