Hi everyone,
I've heard that stick insects eat blackberry leaves. Has anyone got any other food that they can eat - especially over winter.
Oh yeah, and if you get a small goldfish tank with them how meny should you get? It just has to be more than two.
Thanks
I  dogs!

If you have two or more you need to be prepared and have plans in place for the dozens and dozens of babies that you'll end up with!

We feed ours on Privet. We have 5 at the moment - 1 of the originals and 4 babies. Be aware that female stick insects will self re-produce - in our enclosure we only have girls which have obviously laid fertilised eggs. Luckily we had thrown most of the eggs out otherwise we would have thousands of stick insects:suspect:

Privet or bramble leaves.
We bought ours ivy in pots and let them munch on that, also put in privet/box hedge too. We did empty the eggs out to the garden regularly so never had babies. The Wickies are now buried under the ivy they loved so much... RIP wickies!
We used to feed ours privet -we cut fresh privet and put it in a narrow necked small jar or vase and plugged the top with cotton wool to prevent sticks from drowning in it, this way, the privet lasted longer than a couple of days. Our sticks lived in a huge glass jar- bigger than a sweetjar and we put metal mesh over the lid.
Be warned, once they stat breeding you'll have loads and everytime you discard the dried up dead privet a few will escape...I love stick insects, where did you get yours from, I havnt seen any for a few years.
Noodle you sound as soppy as me- when my last stickies ones passed on I buried them in the yard (along with various cats, gerbils, fish and the cockatiel).
