View Full Version : Does my bum look big in this?
An argument cause me to write this.
We were looking at a book titled "Does my bum look big in this?". I Say she like an honest answer, my friend said no she doesn't.
Not enough options here.
If a stranger then be honest.
If a stranger who owes you money, no.
If a relative then be honest.
If a rich relative with no dependants then no.
If a friend either a polite laugh or 'don't be stupid you fat a*sed b*stard' depending on relationship, amount of alcohol on board and size of friend's forearms.
If it's your partner and she/he is still asking this question then you must already have lied at least once.
I always say no, because it is not worth the aggravation one gets if one speaks the truth, what is the sense in causing an argument, or being involved in one.
Relationships are difficult enough, without telling the truth and upsetting the woman involved, as, to a woman this question is vital to her emotional stability.
cosywolf 20-08-2003, 16:02 If you tell her no, and she already suspects the outfit doesn't look quite right, she won't believe you anyway. So next time you do want to tell her she looks stunning (do this more often, boys), she won't believe you cos you lied last time. And next time she asks and you say no, you'll prob'ly just get in trouble for fibbing all the time, or 'not actually looking', or 'just saying that to shut me up'.
I actually do want an honest answer - I don't want to go out looking like Attilla the Hun because when I asked he said 'yeah, wear that, darling, it looks fine'. I also want to know that if I got it spot on I really did get it spot on, and he isn't just saying it for an easy life.
However, be aware that 'yes' may result in her throwing a tantrum because she hasn't 'got anything decent to wear', or is 'the fattest whale in the world' and both of you spending the night in, not talking to each other cos you're both so unreasonable.
You will never win this one ;)
hullmackem 20-08-2003, 16:30 From a blokes point of view it would depend how well you knew her / how long you had been going out. Saying to someone you aint known for long that they had a "hefty derriere" may not go down to well.
Plus you might not get any 8) 8)

lol! Certainly not!

Forget the bum for a minute. What about women who wear what looks like a nice top from the front but reveals bra straps from the back? As far as I'm aware bras are undergarments and the mechanics shouldn't be seen. So when these blokes/friends are asked whether someone's bum looks big they should also point out that what looks like industrial strapping is visible up top.
But what do I know? Most men have little or no dress sense either.
Tony Ruscoe 22-08-2003, 15:35 A woman standing nude, looks in the bedroom mirror and says to her husband:
"I look, horrible, fat and ugly... can you please pay me a compliment?"
And the husband replies...
"Well your eyesight's... spot on!" ;)
Anybody stupid enough to ask this question deserves whatever answer they get....
....either you care about how big your bum looks, in which case you get yourself a variety of mirrors all pointing in strange directions so that you can see it for yourself
...or you dont care and you dont get the mirrors and you dont ask
Anyway, isnt that one of those questions to which the answer might be "God yes, it is, and I had never noticed before, but now that you have drawn my attention to it....."
Shudder
*Twinkle* 25-08-2003, 10:28 My Auntie's bought me some socks saying "Does my bum look big in this?" lol
kittykat 25-08-2003, 23:22 I agree with Louise. Its best not to ask in the first place! Then youll never know whether other people find it big or not. ANyway who cares. Its behind you and you cant see it yourself anyway.
