I got my 7 year old a Che-ezi Snap mini digi cam from the Gadget Shop for Xmas but am having problems with it. He's taken some pics and the counter on the camera shows this, but when I connect it to the PC and try to download them, it comes up with a window saying there are no pics on the camera to download.

Anyone got one of these or have any ideas how to sort it?

PS if I can't get it working, do you think I would be able to return it for a new one even if I can't find the reciept?

Oh and it will take pics whilst connected to PC via USB and these can be saved ok.

The info says you must charge the battery for 15 hours via the USB for initial charging. We didn't do it for that amount of time as he was desperate to use it yesterday. Do you think this could be the problem?

IT sounds like you might not have installed the drivers properly on your pc. Try going to the website and downloading the latest ones.

Also do the instructions tell you to install the software BEFORE first plugging the camera in?
If you don't the pc might be using the wrong drivers. If so unistall under "uninstall hardware", then reinstall the software for the camera, and only then plug camera in.

If the camera has a ni-cad battery cell built in, then it needs a proper charge before you start too. If you fail to charge for long enough (15hours) then the battery will never last very long, no matter how long you charge for. It will start to indicate fully charged when it's only part charged, and it's capacity will be permanently shortened.

This camera takes pics in BMP format maybe your browser is looking for Jpeg ?

I uninstalled the software and re-installed it (for about the 6th time!!) and it seems to be working fine now.

I realise it takes pics in BMP form but when saving them you have the option to save as JPEGs so it shouln't be a problem.

Fingers crossed that after leaving it charging all day, we will have more success tomorrow!!
