This Christmas is really not going too well... :? lol First i end up in Hospital in the wee hours of Thursday morning with a surprise Asthma attack (still suffering a little)... Christmas morning... I get up an fall down the stairs approx 10 steps :? a tad bruised but ok :) Go to Pauly's family for the day... came home... watching a DVD when i feel a little itchy spot on my tummy... after having a little scratch... it felt a little bumpy looked down and noticed all these little & medium sized swollen bumps... i decided to go for a shower incase it was to do with the heat... after my shower i noticed they were starting to calm down so went to bed...
4.35am this morning i'm woken up itching all over argh! the tops of my legs front & back... around my rib cage area front & back... my inner arms/wrists... my tummy again and a little on my chest... its appeared to have spread...
My skin feels as if its crawling... like my blood is boiling... cant stop scratching... went for a shower about 5am touch wood feeling ok... other than a few little twitches of itchyness but refuse to scratch :? also the skin below the bottom of my eye lashes of my right eye is a little swollen...
Wondered if anyone would be able to shed any light of what this could be... Heat rash? / an allergic reaction to something? / too much sugar? any other ideas?
Please :help: if you can...
Many thanks...
ps here's to a New Year! surely it can only get better... cant it!? :? lol
Could be an allergic reaction to antibiotics (i think I read on another thread that you were taking some?)- in which case stop taking them and ring the docs or hospital immediately. It sounds like you're having a difficult christmas, when you're ill all sorts of other things are likely to go wrong (such as falling down etc). I've had flu, sickness and a chest infection for nearly 4 weeks now and am FED UP with it- I just want to get BETTER! Look after yourself, your health is your number one priority.

For things like this, you can do no worse than go to the NHS Direct Walk-in Centre at the Hallamshire.
It is a nurse based service and they are very good. If it is minor they will say so and can dispense a limited range of medicines.
If it is serious then they will either get you to a hospital doctor or tell you to see your GP.
Either way will help put your mind at rest which is half the battle.

If you phone the Hallamshire switchboard and ask to be put through to the Walk-in Centre they will usually tell you how busy they are and how long you can expect to wait.
Good luck.
Could be an allergy....
Also might be something like Chickenpox or Shingles.
Trip to the quacks / NHS Direct is definitely in order.

Hi Angel,
I get the same rash if I if I take Penicillin or eat certain types of chocolate (ususally cheap). I'm allergic to both and come up in smallish red 'wheels' which itch like mad. After a few days they get larger until they become one large swollen area.
As others suggested, get it checked out. You could try phoning NHS Direct before anything else.
Sorry to hear about your rubbish christmas - hope things pick up in the New Year!
Mat :)

Yep, and a long shot, I know, but I'm allergic to an antibiotic called Trimethreprim - and that's for breathing problems I think. When I had it, it gave me the exact same symptoms as you, and it's plastered all over my doctors notes for me to not take it again.
Let us know how you go on?

I went back to the Hospital yesterday as things were getting worse again after my last cool shower... They took a blood test as they thought i may have been allergic to the Penicillin that was given to me (never had probs in the past) or Glandular fever :( could things get any worse lol
The kind Doctor who took my tests was on duty till midnight so told me he would let me know my results before the day was through...
I am now taking Antihistamines 3 times daily which are totally zonking me out... just in case my chest gets worse again i have been given another antibiotic to clear things up...
You will be please to know that... well not 100% I dont have Glandular fever although if i did i am over the worst as its on its way out of my system as there is no longer any signs... so that would leave me maybe allergic to the Peicillin as first thought...
I dunno... all i can say is bring on 2005! :)
Thank you for all your kind wishes... :)
I wish you all a very Happy New Year :partyhat:

Thanx Depoix... Today i think is the first day that i have been feeling what i would call 'normal' in what seems to me a very long time... The rash has gone... just left with a few little scars but nothing serious... :)
Here's to the New Year
Best wishes to you :)
