fnkysknky 24-12-2004, 09:53 I take it you haven't been getting on with each other very well then if you gave 'em a Wednesday scarf!
Sorry couldn't resist :)
CaptainSleep 24-12-2004, 09:57 Yeah i thought about some steel related but i didn't want it to get confiscated at customs.
As for the wednesday scarf, you got to get her the best haven't you
Ousetunes 24-12-2004, 09:59 Sheffield Scene on Surrey Street has loads of Sheffield related stuff. I agree that cutlery Made In Sheffield is a must, although the thought of just the one bottle of Henderson's is quite cruel.
After all, one bottle just isn't enough. Take a case, it's the best stuff in the world. Yummmmmmmmmmmmmieeeeeeeeee.
Yup.... get yerself down to Shefffield Scene.

CaptainSleep 24-12-2004, 10:05 Cheers for the help people,
any other suggestions?
I have found http://www.madeinsheffield.com/ very useful. You may need to chase them to get delivery on time but if you phone and explain the urgency you may be OK....
Get them some Pale Rider beer from Kelham Island brewery
And some Yorkshire Tea!
How about a copy of the STAR,
'Wards' beer mat ( if your lucky )
Tram ticket
Full monty DVD...
Sheffield has its own tartan - that would make a nice gift. It's registered by the City of Sheffield Pipe Band and I recall they were selling tartan scarves and ties at Sheffield Scene on Surrey Street.
CaptainSleep 24-12-2004, 10:49 I think a bottle of beer will have to go in, a copy of the star sounds good.
I like the yorkshire tea idea is good too
richynomates 24-12-2004, 11:03 there's also don alexander's sheffield shop on ecclesall road near tesco's.
laso - the pevsner architechture guide is quite good...

Agent Gypo 24-12-2004, 11:15 Don Alexander sells those Pub Stops of Sheffield maps designed to look like the tube map.
Was going to get one but realisedthere are quite a lot of pubs missing from it.
Ned Ludd 24-12-2004, 11:26 A Sheffield FC key ring or something of the sort.....the world's oldest club!
designbunny 24-12-2004, 13:51 there's a great little book in Waterstones about Sheffield - the architecture or something. very interesting, tho only had time to browse it briefly whilst other half was in the queue. Its on the display next to the tills.

Here's an idea my sister sent me a union jack flag that also had sheffield wednesday football club on it.Americans love to hang flags outside their homes. I'm the only home in my town that has the star & stripes and the union jack displayed !
Merry Christmas
a sheffield heritage pub crawl poster from sheffield scene. Bought one for my brother, went down really well.
Go and get a copy of Wer erz me dad by Fred Pass.
All about Sheffield and totaly, side splitingly funny.
Classic Rock 04-01-2005, 11:32 A Classic Rock Bar, Sheffield T shirt. Still only a fiver. Says 'Sheffield' on it.
