I (and a lady walking near me) got blown over at Park Grange Road tram stop this morning.
I've never been blown over before, it was quite fun, but obviously it would have been less fun if I'd got blown under the tram.

Longley is'nt known for high winds, usually quite calm here when other areas are windy.
Bad here though today so it must be hell on top of the hills.

My Garden fence is nearly on its last legs there are just a few bricks around the base keeping it together!

I feel an opportunity to use the sentence 'blown by a puff' has been overlooked. :hihi: :hihi:

My Dog Max has been very restless he wont settle and keeps panting heavily. He's just rushed past me and ttried to get under my desk which has things under it to stop this tactic. Somehow he managed it though and has pulled cables out of my speakers and scanner, my mouse almost got yanked out of my hand and vanished over the back of the desk. Needless to say I'm not to amused and I've had to drag him out forcibly and he's now upstairs and by the sound of it ttrying to get under the bed.

I think that demolishing the tower blocks has allowed the wind to get much stronger at Park Grange, we should build some more quickly before someone gets hurt.

I had no choice but to ride on the pavement coming home from work earlier :( . I tried the road but got blown in to the middle of Manor Lane. Then there's Park Grange Rd.
I'm suprised our houses are still standing!

One of the massive trees that line Whitworth Rd in Ranmoor, has been blown over across the road!!

Wasn't really sure what to do , so I called the Fire Brigade (hmmmm, lovely). They were here for ages making sure all the other trees were safe with massive chain saws.

Hurrah for the fire brigade!!

Mrs V lost her store card on the way to work so i have just had to go out looking for it in this wind!.

There are windows being blown out of the tower block on Park Grange Rd and bits of glass and putty are landing on the opposite side of the road!!!!

Anyone on Norfolk Park....Be advised

I think we should ban wind in Sheffield, it's one of those southern fads that's creeping northwards, lets start a campaign!

I was in Hillsborough at lunchtime, and the fire brigade and police had been called to some scaffolding which looked like it was going to collapse.

After Conkers , Snowballs......etc...... would it be a surprise ? The touble is what is a joke this month will most likely be law next month under Nanny.Wait for the "Recording Toilet Visits Law",coming on the Statute Book anytime soon.

we got up last night, to investigate a very loud crash, which woke us up...

the winds have wreaked havoc in my back garden.

My garden shed is toppled over, (the walls have been lifted clean off the base) and the shed roof is missing.

what Joy! (and Mr PT is so impressed; we are going to have to call the brother in law over to help deal with the mess/ repair)

And the gas meter cupboard door has been broken, too; the wind has wrenched it off its hinges. more joy! (it's going to be three weeks or so before the workman can come from the housing to repapir it. Apparently, it's not an emergency, that the meter is exposed.

The wind makes me so tense... well maybe it's the car alarm that keeps going off somewhere out there. I think it's the wind triggering it. I don't think I'll sleep at all tonight. :(

I've just cleared up the contents of 2 blue bins. Bloody paper everywhere, most of it outside my back door. Next doors christmas tree has also been flying around, so there is soil and pebbles all over too.

The amount of slates/roof tiles on the street is unbelievable. Thanks goodness ours is new roof!!

I chickened-out this morning and walked into town rather than risk the embarasment of getting blown-over again at Park Grange tram stop, it's like a hurricane up there, I'm suprised they are allowing builders on the scaffolding on the new houses.

It has also managed to rip the trellis of the back of the house together with the clematis and the wisteria that was growing up it.

To add insult to injury it looks like the brickwork behind the trellis needs re-pointing - *sigh*

I "walk" past (ok, ok, i 'Wheel' past!) Greens' Health Club, on Summerfield Street/Napier Street area, on my way to work of a morning, and thier huge advertising hoarding was all "crashed-and-smashed" to pieces, out onto the pavement of summerfield St.

I could not get my wheelchair past very easily, at all. it was scary that something so large and heavy could be damaged by the wind.

There was an almighty crash, that woke me up, coming from somewhere round my house, at about 4am, this thurdsay-morning and I went out to investigate, when it was light enough. I though it was slates. coming off my roof, but it turned out to be the next-door-but-one's massive six-foot fencing panels being blown away, and hitting the roof.

nick2.. sorry to hear about the damage to your plants and trellis... but maybe it was a blessing in disguise. look at it this way; the plants' coming away means that you can see, and rectify the pointing, so that the fabric of your home can be maintianed, keeping the weather out!
