The Little John Inn @ Hathersage allows dogs in, thought the walkers and dog owners might like to know.

Gardners rest, Neepsend (when it re opens after the flooding).
The Rising Sun, Nethergreen :D
There is a thread here that has a bit of info:

And more specifically:

As a general rule many non-'foodie' ale houses allow well behaved dogs.
Ghostrider 06-08-2007, 23:41 How about the dove and rainbow in the city centre.......
Ally_Fraser 07-08-2007, 12:16 Plenty of old dogs in the Little John!!
As far as I know the Derwent in Bamford allows em in as well. Not sure about the Anglers, as the current landlord won't even let locals in, never mind dogs!!!!
The Rutland Arms in Holmesfield and The Stables at Monsal Head (dno how you spell it...) It's a bit further away but a nice place :)
Ghostrider 08-08-2007, 10:15 Bankers Draft.
Usually loads of dogs in there on a friday and saturday night :hihi:

what a great idea- Ive often wondered what the pubs do with the end bits of meat joints from their carvery- Im not much of a meat eater and always bring my portion back home for 'Nellie.

Once we went to a nice pub in Huddersfield at about 6pm on a Sunday. The carvery had just finished, and the chef came out of the kitchen and asked us "does your dog eat meat?" (err :loopy:) and came back out with literally a full carrier bag of beef, gammon & turkey offcuts! It smelled so good I had to keep my OH from stealing it from the dog! All that meat lasted him all week mixed with his dinners. We will definitely be going back there again! :D
If we eat out and have to leave the dog at home, we usually bring her a doggy bag - she practically mugs us as we open the back door. Not interested in us, only the contents of my handbag...

That's a really useful list- have you thought of adding it to the Dog's Welcome website, they are always looking for dog friendly places to stay at/visit/dine. Wish I could remember it's URL
The Millhouses at Millhouses allowed dogs last time we went and brought us a bowl of water
Galloway 11-08-2007, 17:42 The Bridge Inn at Ford welcomes dogs
(Their menu for us is brilliant too - all home cooked food!)
Also look out for their Quiz Nights & Music Nights etc.
Great pub!
skip raider 18-12-2009, 18:59 I wish to compile a list of pubs in South Yorks that are "dog friendly".
I know that the Rockingham arms (Wentworth) invites dogs and even provides dog dinners from the left over food from the meals that are seved there. When i say invites dogs i mean when accompanied by their owners not dogs going in on their own.
eeejay174 18-12-2009, 19:12 please dont tell hubby if there are any close to ringinglow road, i'll never see him and the dogs again!!!
bogwoppit 18-12-2009, 21:05 There is an archive on here which we often refer to.
http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-244369.html
I love the Sheaf for great ale but we are still yet to find a really good food pub which lets dogs in. Let me know!
West Street Live. Plenty of dogs in there.
bogwoppit 31-01-2010, 17:15 Are there any?
I always used to go in the Brown Bear but today when we had an hour to kill in town they said they wouldn't let them in any more.
We had to sit outside the Graduate which was nice but very cold!
Is there anywhere to sit in town if you have an hour or two to kill and have a dog (and want to be warm!)?

Sorry but.dogs and pubs don't mix....not these days anyway. I wouldn't want a dog sat next to me when I had popped in for a pleasant half hour, sorry.
I hate it when people bring them on the bus.
Sorry SheShe but dogs and people have been living together for a heck of a long time... and I still fail to see why some pubs have decided dogs can't go in... (I could understand it if they weren't behaving themselves).
And... you're not answering bogwoppits question at all are you? They didn't ask if anyone felt they should be going in pubs - they were asking where they can go! Which sadly there a few dog friendly pubs left these days.
I hate it when people take kids on the bus and the kids leave sticky finger prints everywhere and scream and shout for the whole journey... so I have very little sympathy for someone who hates it when I take my well behaved, quiet pooch on the bus!
Bogwoppit - I remember reading that Lions Lair allowed dogs in but it's also a gay pub I think!
bogwoppit 31-01-2010, 17:45 SheShe - you're entitled to your opinion, but a lot of people I know like the atmosphere of welcoming pubs which allow dogs. It's nice to have a drink and be able to interact with animals, personally it adds to my relaxation. The worst Luna does will be to look at people eating crisps longingly before curling up and going to sleep under the table so don't think she's too offensive.
Thanks loads Lotti, I have plenty of friends who drink in the Lion's Lair and it's quite a nice pub. I also agree with the child issue, children can be a lot lot more in your face and disruptive then most dogs!
No problem :) I'd just give them a call first to check... save being refused entry if I have got it wrong!
I don't know 100% if they allow dogs in Lion's Lair as I haven't been in for a while but I remember being in there once about a year ago n there was a dog sat with someone at the bar.
The Harlequin (http://www.theharlequinpub.co.uk/://), on Nursery Street, although not exactly city centre, allows dogs - even noisy, farty little Staffies!!!
Sorry, managed to bugger up the link somehow! http://www.theharlequinpub.co.uk/
Rainrescue 31-01-2010, 23:18 Even more reason i suppose for the town centres to be loosing visitors.
Rising Sun's not that far out and they welcome dogs in there - and its a great atmosphere. I think most pubs don't necessarily like them in - because so many people have forgotten man's best friend.

Also the Fat Cat near there too, not 100% sure on Kelham Island Tavern, but still enough around there for a doggy pub crawl!
I've seen people with dogs in the Dog and Partridge on Trippet Lane
whitebull 01-02-2010, 14:29 Again, not in the city centre but the Lescar and the Cricket Inn are both doggy friendly
JarvisCocker 02-02-2010, 08:50 They definitely allow them in Fagans, Richard Hawley is regularly in there with his pooch. I think quite a few pubs around Kelham Island allow dogs in too. And I think The Three Tonns and The Red Deer allow dogs.
I've found a lot of the time they don't advertise the fact but if you just nip in and ask them you usually find they say yes.
bogwoppit 02-02-2010, 11:14 Thanks guys, I will bookmark this thread for next time we're in town.
I have found pubs to be really unaccomadating but maybe I'm just trying the wrong ones. The key seems to be real ale places just outside the most central bit of town...
this thread was also done a good while ago, so if you have a good look, you should find some more suggestions
you may need to do a google search instead of a forum one though, as 3 letter words like 'pub' and 'dog' are too short for the vBulletin search facilitiy
I've just merged an old thread with this. If you look at post #9 there are a few listed on there.
Be sure to phone ahead though as the info is a little old now.
