If you get down into Borrowdale, please let me know if the Concrete Bus Shelter on the left hand side of the road going up towards the start of Honister Pass(?) over to Buttermere, is still standing. If it is, please take a photo of it. We can arrange for me to recieve it via a e-mail later- thanks.

I hope the weather stays fine for you.

Life could be a lot better - you could be out walking in the beautiful countryside instead of sitting in your Hotel Room :)

Disagree Neoteric............could be better still....
Following a nice long walk he could be sat outside the Ye Derwent pub in Bamford supping a pint of nice cool ale.

That would be a pretty long walk - from Derwentwater in the Lake District to Bamford!!

Reason for sitting in room is lots of small stokes that mean I cant walk and also being a ful time carer to 85 year old mum in law means me and hubbs get very lil time together !!

This hotel room and the view is the best thing thats happened to me in a VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRY long time...We had a mega drive yesterday went over a pass in the car thats apparently 1 in 3 ?? Hubbie says its called Hardknotts Rhinos ? That was the most terrfying thing that I have ever done and I LOVED IT !!! haha

I shall ask hubbie, (who used to live here many years ago for many years as a climber and knows the area)...About the Bus Station and will deffo take a photo for you if it is stil there.

Going on a boat trip morrow on the Derwent

Will let you know about the bus stop..Ahhhh Cant remember the last time I was so happy.

I'll be going up Hardknott pass this weekend... in a car though - only a fool would walk up that! :o

The fort at the top is a great (if usually very windy) place for a picnic. For some reason I always feel compelled to charge about being a roman and brandishing an imaginary sword at invaders. You'd never think I was a "grown-up".
