View Full Version : Which film can you recite?

Lestat

It's your favourite film, you've watched it a million times and learned all the words . . . . like a geek you always annoy others by saying the lines before anyone else has a chance to hear it! :P

I have to admit I do this to 'Pulp Fiction'. But am also beginning to learn the Star Wars dialogue too now after watching it so many times! aaaaaaagh!:help:

:o Lestat I also do the same with Pulp Fiction ;)

Same goes for Snatch and more recently Lock Stock & two smoking barrels.

I can also recite most of Forest Gump

I'It's legal there right'?

It's really weird but I just like to sit back and watch Reservoir dogs, never really wanted to learn the script. Unlike Pulp Fiction, you feel much more involved in the plot . . . if you know what I mean - plus the script is so much cooler!:heyhey:

Mine would have to be 'The Italian Job', the original of course with that famous line [which I'm not going to repeat here] I just hope I never find myself in a cinema watching it cos I'll probably get ejected.

Can you all seriously recite these start to finish or do you "just know a lot of them"?

Like could you just sit down and write it all down on a sheet of paper, or would you need to actually be watching it to know the dialogue that is coming up?

So far Pulp Fiction is the only one that I can properly recite! I know each scene, each bit of music, each gun shot and every line and which character says it! . . . . . I know what you're thinking . . . . Sad B****rd!

The thing is, it's not through watching it on purposeand learning every line like a total geek, but everytime you watch a film you love - you learn abit more! Thats my excuse anyway and I'm sticking to it.:P

I don't get it!

How can you possibly enjoy watching a film more than once?

I'd need the memory and attention-span of a goldfish (Oh! Look! A Castle!) in order to happily watch a film that I'd already seen once before...

I can't even watch a film that's predictable... Star Wars, for example (I had to sit through one of the many versions the other night, no option)... SFX of spaceships zooming around... Followed by serious-sounding dialogue (How the actors keep a straight face when discussing the 'force' beats me, they deserve Oscars for that alone)... THEN, just to break the monotony, there's yet ANOTHER battle with light-sabres... Have these dolts never heard of hand-held, projectile-firing weapons? Swords are SO 'yesterday', surely?... Followed by the whole sad, nonsensical, predictable pattern of events repeated ad-infinitum... Rarely have I been so glad to see the end-credits roll! ;)

'A Life Less Ordinary' I can quote huge chunks of it e.g: when Roert has just kidnapped Celine and they're in an abandoned house and he's tying her up.

Robert: Now, I'm not gonna hurt you, but I am the kidnapper...and you are--
Celine: The victim.
Robert: And that's just the way it is.
Celine: It's okay, I've been through this before.
Robert: Kidnapped before?
Celine: Yeah, I was 12.
Robert: That's terrible!
Celine: It was a long time ago....
Robert: So......how am I doing?
Celine: At the kidnap? So far you're not doing too bad.
Robert: Thank you. Now, I'm just tying you up so you can't escape.
Celine: I know that.
Robert: Because of course, you would try.
Celine: Are you gonna try to have sex with me?
Robert: No!
Celine: Isn't that what you brought me up here for?
Robert: No it is not.
Celine: It didn't even cross your mind?
Robert: No....well...No!
Celine: Do you have a problem with sex?
Robert: N-no...
Celine: Oh so you're just frightened of it?
Robert: No!
Celine: Nervous then?
Robert: Look, I'm not nervous!
Celine: Okay then, calm down!
Robert: I'm perfectly calm, I'm just trying to explain to you that there's no sexual motive in my actions.
Celine: Glad we got that cleared up.
Robert: So, what did they do next?
Celine: They...stuck a needle in my arm. Then they took a pint of blood and sent it to my father...the next week they did the same and the same the next until he paid up. He waited six weeks....that's what happens to the victim.

I literally know it off by heart :D
