One of the things I love about Christmas is sitting at home and watching some really good television over the festive period. I always buy the Xmas editions of TV Times or Radio Times and highlight the programmes and films I'll be watching.

The thing is though, the TV schedule is beginning to look rather repetative every christmas . . . same old films, Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins and the main BBC film is Harry Potter?

I dont know why they don't just pay for one major new film
( new = fairly recent ) like 'The day after tommorrow' or 'Finding Nemo' etc. . and guarantee winning the ratings battle.

Christmas TV does seem to look pretty poor this year.

I actually have to talk to my family :o

The difference between now and say 15 years ago is that we have all seen the 'new films' months if not years ahead of them hitting our Tv screens. With pirate copies we even see them before they hit the cinema! There's nothing to look forward to this Christmas on the box. I'd like to see some one-off dramas and more comedy.

Finding Nemo's been on, on teh Disney channel... So it's sod's law it'll be on Terrestrial TV within the next 6 months to a year after endless repeats on Sky.
