Hi all,
I've not long found out I'm pregnant and I totally adore knitted cardigans, hats shawls (mostly shawls) and my nana done it for my dd (she'll be 10 when this baby comes) but she's got arthritus now and can't knit.
I've tried to learn but am useless at it. My question is can you recommend a shop where I can buy reasonably priced knitted baby stuff or can you tell me of someone who would be will to knit some things for my baby and I'd pay for it?
I just think a baby needs to wear wool, they look so sweet in their wee cardies or hats.

Congratulations!
If you are in Sheffield tomorrow, go to the WoolBaa. There's lots of lovely wool there and Jill or one of the customers will be able to help you learn. They have classes there as well.
You're right - babies do need to be in lovely, snuggly woolly cardigans and things.
whats woolbaa? and where is it?
Thanks for the congrats xxx

It's a very fine woolshop at Hunters Bar, off Ecclesall Rd, near to Endcliffe Park. Jill (the owner) will get you started with the knitting! And if you really, really don't fancy it, she can probably put you in touch with someone you can commission to knit a shawl. Congratulations!

Hi Look out for the craft fairs that will appear over the next few months as they will possibly have items to buy. Also look at the back of Simply Knitting and other mags as there are often advertisers who will knot commissions. By the way - congratulations.
The farmers' market in Barker's Pool has a WI stall which often has handknitted baby clothes.

there are lots of knitted baby goodies on www.folksy.com :)
although folksy is an online shopping platform with sellers from all over the UK, the company is based and run from our own fair sheffield so you can shop online and support local and small businesses :)

LucyLou99 thanks for the link (which I suspect is your business) but the OP's post was made in 2007 :D
Congratulations. Second all of the above. Was in Bakewell and the needlework shop had a basket outside of baby things very cheap, sold in aid of a charity. Need to look through though as there are some lovely things and some not quite the same league.

The baby in question is now 4! Please look at the date on the original post!
She's 3 and no need to shout!
