HI all!
Many thanks for the info on my 9other thread re: ad ware, I have installed and run the link you gave me and it came up woith over 200 items on my PC which I have quarantined. However, I have just come to start my PC and ok, it's staretd but it ran the ad-ware scan as soon as I turned on my pc and also since installing it the colour resolution has gonen and is all patchy on my pc, how can I change it back to normal?? It never rains but it purrs:) Thanks in anticpation! Lovies ~Angel

It's odd that it should have changed your colour depth or resolution, but to change it back simply right click on your desktop and select "Properties".
From there select the "Settings" tab and play about with the slider and drop down.

Ad-Aware probably deleted something it shouldn't have.
Tony's tip is the obvious thing to try, failing that, try this:
START button, select RUN, type SCANREG /RESTORE
And if my memory serves me correctly you can restore your system files from the last few days. So just select yesterday, or the day before. Whenever your screen was working correctly.
This should remedy the problem!
OH NO!!! I just don't know what is happening to this PC! I have tried what you 2 guys say but to no avail! When I go to the 'set resolution and there's the little bar to move, it's set to the lowest and I cannot slide it across! I have also done the 'Restore' that you have said Tom and it has resotred my machine but not back to normal with the resolution. Though the ADware prgramme is gone that you told me to download last night, plus my history is back so something has worked but not this! I'm getting ready for throwing it into the fields at the back! So I still have the dodgy resolution thingy! Boo Hoo ~ going off to sulk narh!

Reinstall your video card drivers maybe - sounds like you are on native vga 16 colour only

Before you run Ad-aware, download and run Window Washer.
Ad aware makes it look like there are lots of items tracking you, but most are harmless cookies.
Running Window Washer (www.webroot.com) first clears the cookies out, leaving Ad Aware to show up diallers and other nasties.
