I moved to Sheffield in October - as an official first year student - and I gotta say: I AM LOVING THIS PLACE!!! I have practically been anywhere and everywhere; some places are worth going again, some places are not. Has anyone been on a bar crawl down West Street? AMAZING!!! Anyone been to Gatecrasher and Kingdom? Hmm..............................................
What do people make of it? Well, when I went to Kingdom last week the bouncers at the door took one look at me and said "sorry love dress code tonight?" What? Dress code? At Kingdom???? Somehow the very two things seem to juxtapose each other if you take in the location and general attraction of such a place. OK so I may have worn combats and a casual shirt as opposed to a very short skirt and a barely-there top but quite frankly, we are not back in high school anymore. We don't need to look 18 when we are really 16 and hoping to get into a night club!!!! Have a word with yourself Kingdom!!!!
On the other hand I have discovered this very cool bar called Tequila Bar on West Street that serves the most amazing cocktails - and on 2-4-1 as well. And the amazing thing is, there are no images, superficial-ness and dress codes. It's not the really a student hangout but I choose classy over scrubbery any day!
