What a bad name the yobos from the U.K. are giving this country in Greece, drunkeness, vomiting in the streets, sex in public, Shouting obscenities, is this what the british taxpayer is spending millions of pounds on education for?

Surely they can have a good time without all this type of behavior we used to have a drink and take the girls out, but never acted this way, what is the matter with these young people? is it because they like to shock and appear on T.V?

There are basic standards to apply in everyones life and if they haven't any respect for themselves, they should consider their hosts feelings and also their relatives back home, plus the fact that they are demeaning the name of Great Britain in the eyes of the World.

Maybe I'm getting old, but a holiday in a place like that would be my idea of hell! To my mind there are three reasons to go on holiday abroad:

1.taking in another culture - exploring the sites, eating their food and generally soaking up the atmosphere and then
2.relaxing with a good book somewhere quiet
3.or throwing yourself down a snow covered mountain (normally on your head if you're anything like me).

You are a person after my own heart, that is just what I like to do when on holiday, see fascinating places, explore, meet people from another culture, try to understand what there view of life is.

Not lying in a drunken stupor, oblivious of anything around me, having sex with any dirty slut who happens to be at hand, getting venereal disease, urinating in the street, vomiting, UH. the thought appalls me. and it is not my age, I have never and would never have wanted to do it at any age.

Im 18 and i would rather dip my head in a bucket of chip fat than go to some tacky resort full of young people who cant think of anything better to do than have druken unprotected sex for 2 weeks. The residents of these places must think English people are all stupid. I dont see the point in flying all that way to a country thats slightly hotter (not even hotter if you count this summer in england) just to drink and have sex and drink alcohol with a load of other equally dumb english people - why not just nip to blackpool instead and mess out own county up instead of inflicting themselves on other countries. Youre supposed to go abroad to experience a different countrys way of living and the different scenery and food but these places are just like the scabby areas of england but with the odd greek/spaniard thrownin for good measure.

Nice one to the police in Falaraki who are going round arresting club reps for taking groups of near neanderthal young english people round on pub crawls. Maybe one day these once beautiful greek islands might actually be worth visiting and wont just be full of vomit and used condoms.

What a refreshing change to hear such a sensible point of view from a young girl, when I read your post I was heartened, to think that after all, there is still hope for the young generation and the future of our great Nation.

I am sure that this appalling behavior, is confined to a minority of morons who have been dragged up and have not been taught any morals or standards, and are not representative of the decent people of this country.

To be honest, I can't stand beach or resort holidays either. I need to be doing something - exploring the culture, visiting archaeological sites, climbing mountains - experiencing as much of the country and people as possible.

I'm hoping to go traveling at some point - South America, Asia, Africa - everywhere I can. I can't wait to spend time with indiginous people, and experience the rich, diverse cultures the world has to offer.

Sorry, but beer, beaches and hotel swimming pools are just not for me (I'm 25, by the way, if that's relevant - but I've always felt that way about holidays :) ).

Nobody seems to be blaming the Greek bar owners who are offering monetary rewards to the reps to get bodies into their bars. I'm not excusing the behaviour of our cultural ambassadors but without the avaricious bar owners there may not be such a problem, IMHO.

It's good to hear of the mass arrests that the police are doing. On the lunchtime news at least two parents have had to go over today to bail out their children who got arrested last night!!!

im with kittykat here, im 17 and going to another country to act like an idiot is my idea of hell too. actually going abroad to places like the tourist hotspots of greece and spain is my idea of hell as well.

Yeah, a Thong contest. The mother says she is shocked and distressed - not at her 18 Y O daughter's behaviour, but because she was arrested.

I wonder what criteria they use to arrest people. When I went to Tenerife in '97 with my mates (the only "lads" holiday I've been on) we went on one of these "organised pub crawls" but it wasn't about sex, drink and drugs. It was about going to some different pubs/clubs, having a few drinks and having a good time. Yes, we shouted and / or sung songs (albeit badly) but we had no intention of causing trouble. To be honest, it was no different than a night out on the town in the UK.

For the record, I've been sick on the streets in the UK a few times, but never been that drunk abroad! :lol: I don't do it as often now but when I did do it, I always used to try and find a grid/gutter! :D

The sex issue needs to be tacked. There have been a steadily increasing number of rapes, including one yesterday of an 11 year old.

People should be free to dress how they will, but there is the stereotypical adage of "dressed like she was asking for it" which sickens me.
