View Full Version : Any decent pubs in Mosborough?
Hi all
I just moved to Mosborough. It would be nice to take visiting friends and relatives out for a pint. Are there any in the area that serve decent beer (preferably real ale) and aren't full of chavs?
simonj 02-08-2007, 10:59 PM George and Dragon (quiet but popular)
Queen Hotel (all ages and very popular)
Alma (off the beaten track but very good especially the view from the beer garden)
The Vine (recently taken over, banned under 21's, spruced up and becoming very popular with all ages)

No idea who Clive is as I hadn't been in there for many years. The 18 and under groups that were allowed to frequent the place plus the trouble, alleged drugs etc kept me well away. Been in a few times since it was taken over and it's nice to have my old (and nearest) local back again :)

sounds like he must have gone then,:loopy:
Thanks for this advice - will give them a go.
FlowerdUp89 03-08-2007, 01:17 PM Hi mate,
I moved to Ridgeway, the next village from you last year, and there are some really nice pubs there. If your looking for a quiet drink, try the following - The Pheonix (Great view on the beer garden), The Swan (Nice quiet pub with nice meals), ant the Bridge Inn (Well it's just the Bridge Inn, really nice pub, no Chavs in sight anywhere in Ridgeway.) Simply order a pint and relax! :)
frostiekazza 04-08-2007, 07:24 PM We moved to Ridgeway about 6 months ago , and have to agree the pubs are brilliant , especially Bridge Inn , been a few times with the family when i was little in the past but started going more regular now cos we live nearer . Theres a lovely big pond there and you can go for a nice walk alongside a little stream , i used to go paddling in the stream when i was a kid and now my kids do the same ! . When youve finished you can get a nice pint and just chill out , its a lovely place to take the family , highly recommended .

Clive was not the landlord. It was his (ex) girl friend who was.
Thanks to my neighbours in Ridgeway for this extra info. I believe there is a footpath from Plumbley up to Ridgeway so I might take a wander up there on a sunny afternoon and sample a few beers.

No, she has gone. There is a new landlady.
And, Ive not seen Clive for about a year now, so not sure if he's still living local or not.
