Do you think Spiritual healing works? The reason I ask this is that I have had a lot of pain for over a week now, and last night a friend who is a healer gave me some treatment, and it has been the most pain free night for over a week. What do others think.

my jury is out on this one. I haven't had anyt treatment to comment personally however I won't rule out possibility.

The cases for and against are really interesting.

In many complementary or unusual therapies I generally say if it helps who is anyone else to argue? In many cases the complementary thereapy will work out cheaper either in the long or short term depending on treatment....not only financially but physically and emotionally too.

Complementary therapies which personally iw ould include Spiritual healing in - concentrate on the cause and not the symptoms.

Yes it can work...

I went to a healer free of charge all she asked of you was some kinda gift no matter how small... I used to have problems with my knee... with her healing hands she took the pain away for me... It was so relaxing...

also a friends Dad went to a healer for his MS ... The family swore by this guy who had the healing hands... Unfortunately the person didnt save his life... but made life a little easier for her Dad...

ive seen people go for it and they come out happy and thats all that counts. I think pain is very much in the head and i think they work with that. Remember that experience on the factory man, where he came into work and one after another, people kept telling him how ill he looked. (there was nothing wrong with him) by dinner time he had to be sent home with stomach pains and headaches. the mind is a powerful thing, and if u want to believe - go for it, whats the worst that could happen?

I think that there is no scientific reason for it to work, but due to stress and limited time available to doctors, then the time that a healer is going to spend with someone, and the attention given to the person who has a problem is bound to be theraputic. I think that lots of physical symptoms can be due to stress and psychology. Especially Back problems and things like repetative strain injury.

I have no problem with people visiting a healer, and even paying for the healer's time, but I think it is criminal to pay lots of money to them, especially people who are particularly vulnerable. I know of one healer who offered to lay his hands on someone's vehicle to repair the engine, FOR MONEY, this behaviour is criminal as far as I am concerned, and just like broken bones the only way to fix is the proper established channels.
If I knew the name of this person I would happily spend lots of time rubbishing him in public, and trying to ruin his reputation.

Definitely.

The mechanism by which thoughts work on matter is one of the least understood in Physics (I'm not even sure if there are any even slightly plausible suggestions as to how it works)

So the factor of "thinking" the right things to aid healing and pain killing is what comes under the heading of Spiritual Healing" becasue conventional Medicine haven't figured out how to do it.
