The Mexican club Celaya wanting has agreed terms with 27 year old striker Maribel Dominguez and wanted to play her in the team and compete alongside the men.
It seems that FIFA have susequently overuled this and she will now not be allowed to play against the men.
Should she have been allowed?

fifa have made the right decision!! there is womens football and mens football!!
they should not be mixed
I don't think the world is ready for mixed professional football teams or leagues yet. Maybe Mexico and FIFA should look at the countries womens game and get running a semi or fully professional league.
I think FIFA have done the right thing in not allowing her as it would cause too much aggrovation I believe, the male players may go out to intentionally harm her, etc. Not that I am doubting her ability as I have never seen her play. However, FIFA should not leave it at that.
I dont see the problem. If she is good enough then why not let her play? Im sure she is fully aware of physical aspect of playing with men - that part is down to her surely.
Mat:cool:
Well the US PGA allowed Aneka Sorenstam to play in a PGA golf event there this year and I think women competing with men in non contact sports might become more common in the next few years.
I dont think women should be allowed to join the men in football though, due to the physical nature of the sport.
Women playing football in mens teams!!
What next?............equality, the vote, working mens clubs?
Have a word.

Well, the football might not have been much good, but it would have been worth it just for the part at the end where the players exchange shirts :)
