Yes, I'm there for the opening night (Steph is covering me at the Moorfoot this Saturday...where the superb Candygods are playing)

I'll be DJing on other nights along with RedRocker, SplodgeCRB and another Forummer (whose Forum name I can't remember off the top of my head!)

Great night out, great place. Bar staff were so friendly and up for a laugh. The Devils ice - WOW, its worth a visit just for that! The singing was none stop all night with everyone really getting into the spirit of it.
Fab friendly service and you felt really looked after by the owner at the end of the night - he called for taxi's for us all and waited outside with us, making sure we all got a taxi OK.
I'll be back every week - go on give it a try!

I think it opens at 7pm. Just had a look at their website and there are 3 DJ's/Karaoke - Splodge, Oz and Buffy. Not sure which one is doing this Thursday sorry

On Thursday it'll be me and Oz. A double act!

It's not rock at all. I play chart and disco in between songs but there's very little time between singers and it's virtually non stop singing!

Must say I am gonna aim for the quieter nights so I can get more songs in :-) and there are LOADS to choose from!
Hard to fault this place really so far, staff friendly, good selection of drinks, fair prices, And Splodge was a dream come true, so helpfull, and even when I was out of my depth with some songs she always made me feel ok.

I am curious .. Does anyone know if this place is easy to get to without a car e.g. if out drinking ? Is it on a bus route from centre of town or would a taxi driver find it? is it far out (distance wise) ?

The only buses I know of are the 52 and the 6 (Darnall), the 52 goes onto Staniforth rd, get off on the first stop and walk back round the corner and its just past La Chambre, or just tell the taxi its between La Chambre and the Dancing Dollar on Attercliffe rd

Well I finally gave this place a go and it has got my karaoke seal of approval...nice atmosphere...great sound system and a good choice of songs...

Was made to feel very welcome by gypsytom and had a good old sing song...even had to sing requests!

Devils ice was good too!

I shall return...when the shock of the new term wears off....:)

You should have seen the bar on saturday night the whole world descended upon us it was amazing and the goldfish bowls of cocktails were flowing!! I however was in bed Hmmm Never mind i shall soon be draining the the pumps once again and singing my heart out!!

Another fab night last night. Atmosphere was fantastic. Non stop singing, fishbowl cocktails, devils ice - all were flowing. :thumbsup:
I've took some photo's of the singers and plan to put them on MJ's website shortly. Planning on this becoming a regular thing, so if you come down to MJ's for a sing song, or just to have a drink and listen, ask for your photo taking and then look out for yourself a few days later on the website.
