Went in last night as it's just reopened under it's new management. They've cleaned it up a bit inside, opened up the beer garden and introduced real ale (Boddingtons and Bass).

The pub has a darts board and pool table too.

That's great news, I'll have to call in.

Only ever been in there once. It seemed like a proper pub, like it could be a good place, but was a bit run down, empty and didn't have any cask ale. It's handy for the Kelham Island ale trail so it should do well.

Anyone else been yet? Called in the other night. I must say I thought it was excellent. Decor is very well done without ruining the interior. It's a bit like a slightly scuffed, cooler version of the Hillsborough Hotel or Riverside combined with the Grapes. There seems to be a bit of a music vibe - copies of Sandman laid about and some quality sounds in evidence. Very laid back place to hang about in I would say.

I really hope it succeeds. The location may be difficult for them - with the roadworks at the moment it's quite hard to walk to it from the courts direction for example.

Cask Boddies at £2.50 though? I'm all for keeping the riff-raff out of nice places but I think that may be a bit off-putting to some people. Not sure if there were many fancy bottled beers as I wasn't really looking, but that could be a useful addition (paying over the odds seems palatable if it's foreign).
