View Full Version : Pupils recruited to sell boy bands - What do you think? carcrash 20-12-2004, 17:33 http://www.guardian.co.uk/arts/news/story/0,11711,1377374,00.html Siān 21-12-2004, 00:38 Looks along the same lines to me as supermarkets issuing vouchers for computers or leading brands of certain foods encouraging people to buy crisps/snacks etc with tokens on that they can collect & exchange for sports equipment. Only I suppose it's the children who 'benefit' directly not the schools. Personally I think all of this stuff should be kept outside of the education system but suspect that the exercise equipment & computer vouchers schemes will have a far more worrying & long term impact than 13 year olds leafleting for McFly. duffman 21-12-2004, 09:40 Reminds me slightly of the Simpsons episode where Bart, Ralph, Millhouse and Nelson are recruited to to be a boyband and send subliminal messages to joing the navy. Hmmm, I wonder if there's another agenda here? Boyband music will always sell weather there's a decline in single sales or not. mr.blaze 21-12-2004, 13:27 I think your missing the point, these kids are listening to Boy Bands full stop. They require immediate help. Rich 21-12-2004, 14:48 Originally posted by J-Blaze I think your missing the point, these kids are listening to Boy Bands full stop. They require immediate help. Very true that. duffman 22-12-2004, 17:58 Originally posted by J-Blaze I think your missing the point, these kids are listening to Boy Bands full stop. They require immediate help. As much as I would like to help there is no hope for them, once the blonde hair dye goes in it never comes out! |
