Considering applying for a couple of admin jobs at Hallam and wondered how good they were as an employer. More interested in their attitude to staff than staff benefits.

I worked there for a few months every year for 3 years. Was based in the Clearing Enquiry Office which was absolutely hellish and soul destroying; crying students who failed exams ringing up 9 hours a day. After that I was in the Admissions Department for 3 months, which was great. £7.52p/h for stuffing envelopes and drinking tea, no wonder uni's are skint!

Oh, and the staff are great too. The only exception being the tutors of each course. Most of them had little or no common sense and failed to have any grasp of the amount of paperwork that needed to be done.

I'm trying to remember the TV program where the aim was to get sacked. It wasn't so long ago - do you know the one I mean? I'll buy you a pint robbie if you take the job and get sacked 1st day (my money's safe)! I'd love to tell you more, but I might get sacked if I did!

OOO what school or should i now say faculty... and u def not in mine coz there is too much bloody work and not enough hrs to do it in! ... (part timer here)

Ahhh Hallam, how I long for those days of great pay for making rubberband balls.
