OK - I know its still over 3 weeks away but someone had to start it ... what exciting things are there to do or entertainment that is on in Sheffield on the August bank holiday weekend that will make me stay in Sheffield and not go to say the Beatles festival in Liverpool?

Frogstock at the Frog and Parrot? Thought it was fab last year, and anywhere that turfs the inside of a pub has to be supported!

Dunno i'm off to the 'pool for the weekend.

The Cricket Inn at Totley is having a beer festival. As well as the usual Thornbridge beers in the pub there will be a marquee on the green featuring beers from other breweries in the Sheffield area, and if the weather is good they will do a BBQ.

On Saturday afternoon the Cheshire Cheese pub at Hope is being presented with a certificate for winning Derbyshire CAMRA pub of the year.

Stay in Sheffield? Not on your nelly! I've only got the Sunday and Monday to escape. Don't intend to hang around here if possible. Suggestions where to go for a night away (and I hate the Beatles!)?
