I'm new to Sheffield. Are there any pubs around town that do poker nights?

According to the Redtooth Poker website the nearest pub to the city centre is the Olive Grove (http://www.sheffieldpub.co.uk/pubs/lowfield/olive-grove/) in Lowfield every Thursday night.

Star and Garter do poker nights regularly behind the arts tower/weston park

Devonshire Arms Eccelsall rd has been talking to 'poker in the pub' regarding starting night mid August. It is for points only and then the top two pub players go through to a regional final to win prizes. Please comment if you be interested in having one run in this area. Thanks

Yep, the Star & Garter do one.

The Closed shop at Commonside has 2 weekly Monday night games. (free, top 5 paid)

Normally a good turn out.

And there's other places in barnsley and Rotherham.

Basically you play for points and at the end of each month, if you're in the top 48, you are entered into the monthly final where you can win stuff like sat navs, laptops and trips to various places.
For insance, someone just won a trip to Paris for 3 nights (fully paid) or i've won a trip to Dublin which included flights and accomodation for 2 and entry into a poker tournament.

So all in all, come along.:)

Pomona currently closed. The poker night has permanently been moved down the road to The Devonshire Arms.(just past Shell)

Definately recommend the Devonshire Arms, I went for the first time last week and everyone was so friendly and welcoming until you send them crashing out :hihi:

Poiker night at the Springfield Tavern Broomspring Lane every Friday from 8-30. £5 to play all cash paid out normally 1st & 2nd places. Most weeks there is a good turn out and occasionally a real game if you good enough. Been going for over 18 months now and it is a really good night. plenty of side games etc. and everyone will help beginners.
