View Full Version : Canvas printing in Sheffield?
shuwarrior51 30-07-2007, 09:06 Hi guys and gals,
I have recently purchased a really good quality digital camera and have taken some (IMHO) really amazing photos of architecture in New York and sunsets of the New jersey skyline that i'd like to have printed onto large canvas for my own house and as gifts for friends (and who knows....mayeb even try floggin em)
...i was wondering if there was a place in Sheffield where i could do this? You know, take a few photos in in digital form and they prints em onto large canvas?
Thanks in advance!
astronaut77 30-07-2007, 09:43 Hi, a lot of people have recommended a user on ebay called Paulcoxx. Have checked out his site and it looks like good stuff, and very reasonable prices.
Can't remember who's ordered from him off here, but they've given great reviews.
shuwarrior51 30-07-2007, 09:55 cool...do you have his website or do they only operate from ebay?
Also, what kind of prices should i be looking for at for a 20'x30' stretched canvas print?

Looks like a 20"x30" will cost approx £30 inc postage which is very reasonable when compared to other internet sites.

You should be aware that there is a difference in quality, depending on where you get your prints. It is possible to make cheap canvas prints if you cut corners when it comes to the canvas, the frame and the way the print is mount onto the frame. I can only assume that the ebay seller belong to this category... If you do some research on this, you will find that a 20"x30" canvas print will normally cost you £60-£100, depending on the supplier. MCanvasPrints is one supplier that belongs to the lower end of this band. The way they make the canvas print (http://www.mcanvasprints.co.uk) is described here: http://www.mcanvasprints.co.uk/about.php . Postage is the same regardless of how many prints you order, so order several at the same time, and postage will come out as virtually zero.

Being a professional photographer I have ordered many canvases from Paul..He has now changed his eBay name to thetimemanltd. Believe me this guys canvases ARE the best I have ever bought and have bought many over the years from traders costing 5 times as much..He has even got a summer sale on a the minute on some sizes eg his A1 box canvas 20 x 30 inch is only £23-99..

mr chris 28-07-2008, 12:52 what prices should i be looking for at for a 20'x30' stretched canvas print?
20 foot by 30 foot? Quite a lot, I imagine... :hihi:
So what did you end up paying, and what did you get?
wow! it seems to me what you may want is giclee printing. I first heard of this through GraficArtPrints since the owners are friends of mine (I admit so you don't think I'm flogging stuff). They're based in Spain (nr Barcelona) but they may be cost-effective. All I know is that they produce limited editions for established artists and they're fab. If not, I'm sure you'll find other giclee printing in the UK. Good luck!

Giclee is really just a fancy word for large format inkjet printing.
I ordered a canvas print from my usual print supplier, arrived today and it really is rather spiffing!
The band I play in is looking to get a banner with our name and logo printed for using at gigs. The design is nothing fancy, just black and white. Do you think any of these canvas printing places would be able to do it for us on a different kind of material?
JOHN SWIFT 10-09-2008, 16:15 Ask the timeman..he did a water resist banner for me a few weeks ago 36" high and only £35-00 per running meter..think the tel number is on his site..

Hi Altec, I can provide you a banner on either canvas or banner material. We can print anything you would like from general lettering in thousands of different fonts and styles to digital pictures. If you would like a quote you can either email me the details of exactly what you would like or contact me to discuss what we can provide you if your working to a budget.
