This message has been posted on the Suprnova Web-Site:

Greetings everybody,

As you have probably noticed, we have often had downtimes. This was because it was so hard to keep this site up!
But now we are sorry to inform you all, that SuprNova is closing down for good in the way that we all know it.
We do not know if SuprNova is going to return, but it is certainly not going to be hosting any more torrent links.
We are very sorry for this, but there was no other way, we have tried everything.

Thank you all that helped us, by donating mirrors or something else, by uploading and seeding files, by helping people out on IRC and on forum, by spreading the word about SuprNova.org.
It is a sad day for all of us!

Please visit SuprNova.org every once in a while to get the latest news on what is happening and if there is anything new to report on.

As we wish to maintain the nice community that we created, we are keeping the forums and irc servers open.

Thank you all and Goodbye!
sloncek & the rest of the SuprNova Team

I know, it's rather annoying - fortunately I managed to d/l the last thing...

Apparently:

www.torrentspy.com
www.torrents.co.uk
www.demonoid.com
www.kerrazy-torrents.com
http://isohunt.com/
http://suprnova.com

Are all OK...

suprnova.com is a scam site, it tries to charge you to access the same content that was hosted by suprnova.org

Demonoid is my fav aside from Suprnova. I only ever use it for downloading Freeware software though as it's a good alternative to mirroring website content of course.

who cares? suprnova was damned slow, theres plenty of better places to go, its like being bothered that kazaa got stopped... why care it was crap! :P

I only used suprnova on rare occasions, I never rely on one site or program for all my needs as thats stupid...

ever heard the saying "never put all your eggs in one basket", it goes for a lot of things to do with the internet, such as P2P centralisation :P

Erm I think you'll find Suprnova was the biggest and busiest site of it's kind. Ask anyone on the torrent scene and they will tell you the same. Maybe it was a little slow but when your websites shifting 60-80gig of bandwidth a single day then it's bound to be. It also had the largest amount of torrents available than any other site. I for one along with many others will miss Suprnova and the hard work the people who ran the site put into it.

busyiest... biggest... dont mean it was the best :P personally I stick to specialised sites, I know where to go for my music, my movies, my software... if I want it of course

suprnova got a lot of people into torrents, its shut down, that leaves room for another site to grow, there's a huge crack down on torrent sites at the moment, suprnova isnt the only one to go down in the last few days, a few big ones have also closed themselves before they get raided...

torrentbits.com went down, so have a few others...

for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction... something new will turn up, it always does ;)

If your looking for specialised things there isn't just torrents.

Also torrent sites don't get raided as they are not in any way breaking the law by existing. They are simply hosting a file that contains a link. Only by executing that link from ones home are you breaking the law. The thought of being busted was the last thing on their minds. Running a site of that size for fun was just too costly for them.

Shame its gone, better than the other torrent sites as it had a huge list and majority of the time i only had to look there, and i never had a problem with the speed 90% of the time hitting 200k/s which was handy.

I used to use one called uk-fileshare.com but i think thats gone the same way as its not up.

The only prob with alot of other sites is the share ratio and as us in the UK only have 25k/s upstream, it can be a bit of a pain. Although if you use azureus there is a handy way round that.

www.bi-torrent.com is still working, no new torrents, but access to the suprnova backlog is accessible, well worth it if you want something from before they shut down.

Agreeably it was slow to download a torrent from suprnova, but at the end of the day, you knew that what you started downloading was guaranteed to be what you wanted and not some virus/fake file, through suprnova I managed to get plenty of films, music, games and apps and am very sad to see them go, oh well, no point being sad about it though, as someone a few posts up said, new sites always pop up, so it's only a matter of time before something else appears.

well keep me informed on these new sites, as all the ones i like seem to be disappearing, i noticed phonex torrents, uk-fileshare and filelist.org have all gone the same way as suprnova, i had a look at demonoid that one seems ok, i also like http://www.torrentreactor.to thats ok.

anyone know why demonoid is redirecting me to google??

It's doing that to me also :s

I think someone might have hijacked their domain, either that or they are just testing their site users integrity.

apparently the possability of being busted was the main reason for the closedown.

And apparently The Register was to blame, and apparently it was the Movie business that caused its demise.

The list is endless.

A number of torrent sites have gone down in the past few months, there are rumours of them being set up.
