Don't fret, Hazel. It's a local forum, so it covers local news. Your post wasn't disrespectful at all.

This is a very, very sad story all round. When the story unfolds, as it will do eventually I'm sure people will feel sorry for the two lads who have been arrested in connection with this murder. Things may be explained in a bit more detail in The Star Monday.

That is really sad to hear of another tragic event.

I just don't understand why?

I live in Hackenthorpe and the man that got stabbed lives just around the corner from me.

Makes me *shudder* to think :(

its just i read something in the star on line about a fatal stabbing by two men in hackenthorpe, think it looks like a hate (transphobic) crime. my thoughts are with the family i hope they've got support

the Star did make quite a bit of his gender in their piece.

He used to work for me as a part time cab driver in the early 90's so knew him quite well although not seen him for a few months.
A bear of a man who wouldn't take any b******s from anybody but all those who knew him would tell you he had a heart of gold.
Didn't know about the gender stuff and i think i find that harder to believe that what occurred the other night.

RIP NP

A little dickie bird tells me he might not possibly have been whiter than white, the Dennis Hobson connection, allegedly prominent in the Hooligan Following of Sheffield Wednesday and also boxing coach. Seems to have the making of a big hitter.

It seems to me more sinister than people make out, sad for the bloke and his family but thats just my hunch

I know all the people in question & it all sounds a bit strange to me but then it's a strange world we are living in, nobody deserves to be murdered. A good friend of mine was shot dead 2 years ago around the same time, it's a crazy time of the year.

My thoughts exactly... someone has lost their life... I feel that in its self is sad enough rather than people trying to make their own accusations of what did actually happen... if this happened to be a member of my family i would be horrified to read what people had been saying...

Leave it to the professional's thats their job...

i hope not, that makes it worse - attacking someone for who they are. God bless him

regardless of any idle gossip this poor man has lost his life, and his family and loved ones will be devestated. Maybe instead of putting your energies into tittletattling you should use this time to reflect on this family's grief and offer your condolecies.
Also maybe this thread should be closed before it causes any further offence

I agree this thread could do a fair bit of damage should the little stories keep being posted as to what people think may have or not happened...

i agree we shouldnt use hear say, but its sensible to be aware of what is happening around us. This is an article i found yesterday in the sheffield star

Well that just proves the star to be a gutter rag. 'We're not allowed to/don't have enough info to print, so we'll drag his name through the dirt.'

Sensationalist Kerap.

I pity the ignorant few who feed on this tripe.

It doesn't matter how true any of it is, it's his private business. How does it make an already bereaved family feel to read this irrelevant junk? And how are their friends going to react?

Yes you are right I believe this should be closed down. Im a very close friend of the family and the things that are being printed are unfair. Only the people that were invovled no what went off. So maybe we show some respect and stop believing peopes lies.

i knew someone who suffereed a similar thing a few years ago and the papers put lots of C*** about him and his personal life and family it annoyed meand all our friends. I dont think people take newspapers as gospel. and his personal life is noones business. my hearts with this family and im sure i say that for everyone

It's very sad indeed. But the Star are only reporting news, and it's backed up by quotes. I didn't think they dragged his name through the dirt as much as they gave a sympathetic picture of his life.

can i say, brownii blade is talking a load of bull, dennis hobson (the young dennis) deserves everything he has earned and WORKED FOR!!!!. as far as i am concerned a nicer bloke you could not meet, considering what he and his family had to deal with as kids.

So what's with the 'Jerry Springer' approach? That's not 'news', it's GOSSIP. Just coz somebody has said something and it's quoted, doesn't make it relevant or anybody else's business, even if it's true.

These papers only get away with printing this stuff because gossiping guttersnipes lap it all up.

Please don't fuel their fire. It's real people with real feelings they're hurting.
