Hi all, I just joined the forum the other day and I've seen lots of interesting discussions already! I hope this is in the right place - please do let me know if I'm wrong - but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a nice gifty glassware shop? I want to buy a nice vase, for a not-huge amount of money. Of course, if I don't find anywhere more interesting, I'm sure I'd find something suitable in John Lewis, but I always prefer to try and get something a bit more... unique, or supporting an independent retailer.
If anyone has any suggestions - anywhere in Sheffield, I don't mind travelling! - I'd be very grateful! Thanks!

Try the Millennium Galleries - they've a new xmas shop where you can buy artists work. They have lots of really nice stuff. Try craft stalls - where people sell what they make - there are some on fargate
Sounds like you could do with setting aside an afternoon to stroll up Ecclesall Rd and back down the one that backs onto it. It's full of independent shops stocking the products of people's crafty labour. They're not tacky craft shops either.
Thanks very much for the tips - I did have a wander down Sharrow Vale the other day, but didn't find anything quite right; I'll have a proper look down Ecclesall and in the Galleries tomorrow. Thanks!
Just thought - try the yorkshire art space! or YAS for short. I'll just find a hyperlink

Hi Elyndys,
Why not take a trip out to Castleton, see the lights and browse the gift shops. There's some unusual glassware there.
Sinclairs is probably a good bet, though I don't know how much stock they've got on display since moving into temporary premises.
They're on Glossop Road near the Swim Inn.
Thanks very much everyone! :) Now it's stopped snowing I'll venture from my lair and check those suggestions out. ^_^
