I have my Mum knitting a jacket for my son. It has a full length zip. Neither of us have sewn a zip in before and I wondered how tricky it is.

I've never put one in Wheezy but this (http://www.claudiasblog.net/2006/03/everything_i_know_about_puttin.html) is an excellent tutorial. I think Lisa put one into something she was making last year.

I've never found any problems with inserting a zip, and the only piece of advice I can offer you is to block your knitting really well to exactly the right length and fit your zip in with tension on neither the zip nor the knitting. It will look naff if there's a disparity in the length of either, and if you don't block your knitting you'll end up with stretchy baggy bits alongside the zip after a few wears.
