Would recommend you head back there Bobby sergeantb 30-07-2007, 20:35 love it! its my fav curry house in shef! gularscute 05-08-2007, 14:37 I'm not sure where the hostile service comes in but I've always been treated very well there. My girlfriend practically used to live there and she's on first name terms with the waiters. A couple of times they've given us free pints while we've waited for takeaways. Fudbeer 05-08-2007, 15:08 my fav curry house great portions and great quality. mickdalewood 05-08-2007, 17:39 Where is it as i like a nice curry? libuse 05-08-2007, 18:14 I'm not sure where the hostile service comes in but I've always been treated very well there. I've sometimes found them to be a bit terse, but then I tend to go when its busy, so they are probably run off their feet. As I said, I rate the food so don't mind if the service isn't obsequious. Mickdalewood - its at Heeley Bottom, on the corner of London Road and Albert Road. Well worth going, the food is cracking. Ibby 05-08-2007, 19:21 Is there not 2 New India Gardens, both have same name but owned by different owners? I personally like the one in Woodseats. libuse 05-08-2007, 19:40 Is there not 2 New India Gardens, both have same name but owned by different owners? I personally like the one in Woodseats. I thought the one up at Woodseats was a takeaway only? I've never been so can't comment, but its the one at Heeley Bottom I'm talking about gularscute 06-08-2007, 10:51 I've sometimes found them to be a bit terse, but then I tend to go when its busy, so they are probably run off their feet. Heh heh! Just the opposite with me Libuse, I've always been in when it's been quiet so I guess that explains it. I know what you mean about obsequious service, I find it creepy. WangGang 06-08-2007, 15:04 the takeaway on woodseats is nice! I think it's owned by the same people as the signs are identical? holymoses 06-08-2007, 21:52 Me and Mrs Moses have been going to New India Garden off and on for the past 10 years, Its always been friendly and the food is very good, try the Chicken Satay. a.s.ullah 12-03-2011, 03:39 New India garden restaurant and takeaway was owned by the same family they also had bangla garden in dronfield and new india garden take away in chestfield and 1 in Manchester how ever the owner had an hart attack (think he is 74 now) in 2000 and the sold the restaurant on heely bottom there takeaway in dronfield Chesterfield and Manchester but kept the takeaway in woodseats and still run it till this day iv Hurd they have a restaurant in Chesterfield now deepa's I think it's called and are going to open a big restaurant in Sheffield very soon. bobbyblade 12-03-2011, 17:01 just looked at deepas website and its great to see a photo of the owner, i remember when he used to come out and say hello and put out his tandori coloured hands , and the food was divine. we often used to come from donny just for new india garden and we were never disappointed. have to venture out that way again sometime:) a.s.ullah 15-03-2011, 21:37 The owner of deepas will be opening a new 200 seater in gleadless Sheffield in the next 4 months if u remember him I'm sure he will remember u if u privet message me ur details I can post u some invites out for the opening night if you want?
