You know perfectly well that I have not yet completely mastered the art of drop spindling! I am awaiting the arrival of Sonia, my local drop spindle expert for a quick teach-in on Tuesday evening. Unfortunately I did not get to see the w4b demo properly as I was busy making tea and coffee......

So, about as far as you've got then:D

:suspect: Hey :suspect: , I may have w4b on the other end of my net but I don't have a Private Tutor such as yourself - get you!! :o

Perhaps if you sat at the table with the rest of us, you might have seen the demo - how unsociable!

Look forward to your input, every little helps :help::huh:

I suspect that title is already taken and it isn't me. I doubt if she does home visits for the price of a cup of tea though.

I think we'll all rest easier once Wheezy has learnt to spin. After that she can badger Jill for patterns for her fancy yarn or maybe just start up yarn collecting as a hobby.

I could see her spinning with fleece from her own flock of alpacas. Or perhaps a flock of Hebrideans - perhaps in the Outer Hebrides...:hihi:

You're cheap w4b - I might even through in a rich tea :hihi: Will you be bringing your overnight bag? It might take me a while to get the hang of it? Oh, and I'd never badger jill, will leave that to AmelieB :D

Obviously it was my quick lesson that made her become a spinning supremo, rather than any innate talent....

Hey - just because I have been ofline for a couple of days don't think you can question my innate talent!

P.S. When are you popping back in - I may need assistance getting going again. Thank God for this invisible ink typing - Wheezy won't be able to see that I may be slightly behind on the drop spindling front....

It's not a competition you know, there are enough sheep (or worms, camels, yaks, alpacas, rabbits plus all those plants) to go around. It's not as if you need to spin it like mad to make sure that you get your share.

I can't wait to see you two giving the demonstrations to the next two (oh, did I not mention that part...?)

I may ring in sick........... besides, it's not fair that the others would get sub-standard (shut up Wheezy, I'm doing this for you too) tuition. I have currently spun enough for a 10mm button cover - at a stretch......so not exactly expert just yet:)

You can wind some off mine on to yours Jill and say it's yours if you like. I should have enough for a jumper by tomorrow, with a few scraps left over for your spindle - let me know ;)

A refresher video for the would be spinners ("actual spinners" from the sound of it) from You Tube

Drop spindle spinning (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drXid5cT0y8&mode=related&search=) (I like this one because she shows you what happens when you let the drop spindle spin backwards)

Very good. Like you, she makes it look soooo easy. She gets the yarn so thin, I thought it was going to snap a couple of times! My spindle fell to the floor like that today! :hihi: Maybe one day, I will spin like that! :D

So do you have your own spindle now? You must be serious about that cube to fill at the Wool Baa with your fab yarn! Is there no end to your talents? Off to make more holes in the name of beginners crochet.
