Does Googling for "free SEO tools" not bring up any hits...? It does for me...

There are loads of SEO tools that can boost your website rankings. If you want a free one then dont expect it to boost your website to anywhere near page one of a search engine.

Basic rules for a good website are

1. Use relevant page titles
2. Name the .html etc. page similar to whats on the page also.
3. Use Header tags for the text titles <h1> and subtitles <h2>

If you want your site looking at properly then pm me.

Best thing you could do rather than SEO is get some links to your site with relevant key words. This is the only way you will ever move up the listings for popular searches. The tips above are worth doing but links to your site are more important.

EDIT - Just to clarify basic SEO is a must but nearly everyone gets to the same level if they don't use a specialist. After that it is the links that matter.

Also, do as much as you can using this ebook:

After that, add new content to your site every week or two to keep the search engine spiders coming back.

Doing the above worked well for me.

To get even better results you should get other websites linking to yours (the higher Google page rank they have, the better) - you can check a sites page rank using Firefox browser with a page rank extension.
