Does anyone know of any local loan companies who lend to people with poor credit history ?
I have been bankrupt in the past so can not use the High street lenders.
I only need £600 for an emergency repair within the next week or so.
Credit unions are out because you have to save with them for a while first so really I am looking for a moneylender type company.
I don't mind a high interest rate, but obviously the lower the better !!

Anyone ideas ?

Tried all of them with no luck. They wanted me to borrow 2k or more and didn't want to know with small amounts.
Thanks anyway ;)

Not that I would recommend it to anyone, but if you have proof of income etc. the Moneyshop do small loans IIRC.

You could always try Provident Financial...

bad ideas! There's got to be a better way than getting into dodgy debts.

Give me some suggestions then !!

Provi, Shopacheck and Tupholmes all charge around 169% APR. Thats really, really bad.

Do you not have any family or friends that you could borrow off either interest free or at a reasonable rate.

Obviously, I have no idea about your actual situation, but :

is is really an emergency?
what will really happen if you don't find £600?
£600 is a lot of money - will it really cost that?
could you do it yourself if you really had to?
can anyone else on here help out for free or low cost?
how long would it take you to save up?
can you pay in instalments?
can you get a grant, or charity payment?

Are you in receipt of any of the following:

Income support, income based JSA or pension credit...?

If so then you could try social fund: 0845 608 8671

Go to the Sheffield Credit Union on the Gallery above the markets, they do loans up 1000 pounds and they don't credit check you or anything.
Its a government run scheme for people with bad credit.
Its open from 9am to 1pm.
This is an example if you borrowed 1000 pounds you would only pay back 1063 pounds.
