Where can I excercise my dog?

We need to do some physiotherapy, and the best excercise would be some stair climbing.
The thing is, he's not supposed to do 'downstairs'.

So, does anybody know somewhere we can go upstairs and down a ramp?

Woodhouse/Crystal Peaks would be ideal, or somewhere I can take him to in the car, as he's not supposed to walk very far yet.

Can you pass him off as a guide dog and use the stairs in Crystal Peaks? Even got a lift to go back down!! If I remember correctly!

Hmm.. maybe not such a great idea!

NCP car parks in town. Especially the one above Atkinsons, this has stairs and lots of floors. Or the one next to telecom house, that has a lift too but I think the Atkinsons one is taller

Yes but there are 2 lifts there which you can use to bring your dog back down, which is why I suggested it. Stairs up, lift down ok?

Try Morrisons at H'boro. They have a flat escalator for taking trolleys which would take you down and stairs next to that for going up. Perhaps take along a sheet of cardboard for him to avoid sitting on the metal grid.

Wear some dark glasses, and see how many laps you can do before you get someone asking if you are lost :o Then just climb into your car, and watch the look on their faces :heyhey:

Hmm.. what about that hill I walked up - that's prety steep - can't remember where it was though - I think it was from Hillsborough tram stop - and you went up an alleyway and then up a steep climbing alleyway, and it took you up to Walkley... And then maybe around the side streets....?
Then the dog won't have to go back down again...

A 10 minute round walk not near you but quite pleasent involving a long flight of steps. Archer road across from Sainsburys there is an old quarry, at the left hand side going up behind the petrol station is a flight of steps then there are two footpaths one which will lead you down to a road that comes back to the foot of the steps or a longer one that takes you to Hutcliffe crematorium and then round onto a road that again will bring you back to the base of the steps. 90% dog can be off the lead and it's green and quiet.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I may have difficulty smuggling him into a supermarket, but the quarry and car park sound like they may be worth a try.

I've often wondered whether I'd be able to take him more places if I got one of those steel lead and harness sets :hihi: and wore dark glasses. Problem is he gets too distracted by discarded chips and fag buts

Thinking about the Pistol Creeks area, how about up the Milestone steps from bus station and out of the car park at other side then walk on flat past the bookies and back to the bottom of the steps.
Then there's the steps round the back of the old church in Beighton village which goes down into the village path, nice walk he can go up steps then back round via the path, probably about a 20 min walk. You can get to the steps either across from Lowe's Newsagents in the village or just behind Pinks Florists and that row of shops.
Failing that, do the stairs in your house and carry him back down :D

There is also a walk way down from Grange Rd to the bottom of the steps Zebra

Our stairs have a turn in them, so they're a little awkward for somebody with short stiff legs.
