Man City have slapped a £25m price tag on Shaun Wright Phillips and then said that they have no intention of selling him.

He is a quality player and although just recently signing a new deal with City I don't think they will be able to keep hold of him much longer with these figures been branded about.

nah they said they have no intention of selling him,
but if somebody offers "silly money" ie 25 million, then of course they would have to listen, and obviously they would have to yes!!

but i really can not see anyone coming in with such an offer

He's a great talent no doubt and I would like to see him as an England regular in a few years time. I don't think he will benefit at a larger club at the minute and under Keegan he is getting some good experience, so to slap a £25m price tag is a bit silly as that may put more pressure on him from the fans and by himself to perform which may be good but could be bad.

I read on Sky Sports news that Chelsea and Man City have agreed an undisclosed fee for SWP. This, a day after the player asked Man city for permission to speak to the Champions.

I am sure that I read a quote from him sayin he was commited to playing for Man City and was signing a new contract

I've heard from a chelski fan that the figure agreed is £21m.

Sorry to say, another starlet thats probably going to go to waste in the chelski squad, especially if Essien is coming in as well.

Chelsea have virtually got 2 world class players for each position.

Moving to Chelsea won't do SWP Internation career any good.

£21m is the price tag with a 5 year contract for SWP, I will give him 2 years until he gets bored of being on the bench and moves on to a club like Newcastle or someone like that for some first team football.
