View Full Version : New Casbah website
mikeyproduct 23-07-2007, 07:43 PM I'm proud to announce the launch of the new casbah website:
http://www.sheffieldcasbah.co.uk
There's already full gig listings and club night information there, and over the coming weeks we'll be introducing a members area with competitions, offers, galleries, forums and more...
barns101 23-07-2007, 10:33 PM Nice website. It's good to see that it doesn't force the user to have the very latest version of Flash in order to view it!
Could I recommend placing the page inside a frame instead of linking to it? It's one less click away for a user and keeps your domain name in the browser.

That's my next job. I've got some very neat pre-written code to do it, but I haven't got it handy and I really wanted to get it launched today...
sarah2007 24-07-2007, 08:19 PM good job...
NEKRO138 24-07-2007, 08:48 PM I heard the Municipal Waste gig had been moved to Casbah, but nothing on the site. I really wanna see em. Know anything?

Darn it, I wanted to see them too, but Leatherface are playing in Manchester the same night which is too good to resist.
mikeyproduct 25-07-2007, 05:24 PM Municipal Waste has indeed been moved to casbah. All is not lost ;)

Saw Leatherface earlier this year with Pot Kettle Black. Plus, Muni Waste in a venue that size will be amazing.
no_rules 26-07-2007, 07:56 PM yeah municipal waste is now at the casbah august 9th 8pm start, and i agree it should be a mental show, they've specifically requested intimate venues as they're looking for a great atmosphere!
glad you enjoyed the leatherface show - that was another of mine :)

mikeyproduct 27-07-2007, 01:41 PM He does not.
behappy 13-08-2007, 03:29 PM He does not.
i dont suppose you know where they went do you - are they still in sheffield?
rach108 12-12-2007, 01:11 AM they went to live in Hathersage last time I heard. After multiple tribunals and paranoid attacks on various members of staff from Bob. Casbah was a decent place (albeit a bit grungy) shame about the brainless muppet that owned it and his long suffering wife who was actually a decent bird just dragged down by him and his inability to pay bills

As old school WAP, I gave Casbah many chances and was not happy with the management style ;) that's all I'm saying.
(disclaimer: I have no clue about the aforementioned owners marriage or relationships)

Yeah word has it many a decent member of staff bullied into gibbering wrecks by random inaccurate accusations. The only problem the place had was the owner. Even the promoter, Mark, had his turn at being the 'target of blame' when in fact the blame should have been levelled at the expensive lifestyle of Mr Mirfin himself. It's ok if you can have a 3 car fleet amongst other things :) but pay no bills
