View Full Version : Where to get artwork printed on to canvas?
Hi
Can anyone recommend a place in Sheffield where i can get artwork or photographs printed onto canvas?
Ive got a few things id like to have printed but ive no idea if its really expensive or not?
thanks
Pinders (on Moore St) do, think it is about £45 - £50 for an A1 print, but don't quote me on that!
Haven't come accross anywhere else in Sheffield who will, but some of the internet printing services might?
Try here. Scroll down the page to 'art papers'. (http://www.m-techdirect.co.uk/papers.htm)
They're in Handsworth and allow you to collect from them

Digital onto canvas at that price  Glad I got out of screen printing when I did :)
Pindars have always been more expensive than other places, makes you wonder how they've survived!
Looks like that place in Handsworth just sells the paper im looking for somewhere that will print onto large canvas from my artwork.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, looks like I might need to search further afield. I was just hoping i could find something more local.
Ask M-tech who they've supplied the banner rolls to recently.
Good luck, and if you find anywhere please let us know, I always feel like being ripped off in Pinders!
Agent Gypo 17-12-2004, 14:17 If anyone wants any digital work ie art and photos printed on canvas, pm me and I'm sure I can undercut any shop you can find offering the same service.
In fact, I'm pretty sure I can do it on better quality canvas than Pinders, Archaepelago or Print.com.
Oooh, sounds good - what size can you print up to?
Agent Gypo 17-12-2004, 14:30 3x4' laminated 350gram canvas.
Please use pm as I don't want to clog up the board.
Thanks

You might want Giclee printing services nooka although they tend to be expensiove. Your image is printed onto a roll of pretreated canvas and then stretched onto a wooden frame just like a painting. This is then framed like a painting too.
Peak imaging do a canvas bonding service which is cheaper - see here http://www.peak-imaging.com/htmls/mf.htm#canvasbonding

I'm thinking of having my watercolours printed & making my own greetings cards - would you be able to do this or should I start a fresh thread? :help:
See my hyperlink for watercolour printer paper
Don_Kiddick 17-12-2004, 21:41 Thanks I already did, but I want to have them made for me - me providing the artwork & getting a finished product to use/ or sell. It's just groundwork at the mo' ; if I find a good lead I'll get some more watercolours done. The one's I do at the mo I'm sending out the originals as I do them. I'd need to build up a portfolio.
Agent Gypo 19-12-2004, 13:12 I can put pretty much anything on canvas really, but I wouldn't recommend it for watercolour work.
As a rough guide, this is generally what we charge;
20x20" (51x51cm) £25
20x28" (51x71cm) £30
20x40" (51x102cm) £40
We can make up to any size you need though. pm me for a quote.
Please note WE DO NOT OFFER A FRAMING SERVICE, so if you want the canvas stretching, go to either Fast Frame on cambridge street, or Lighthouse Gallery on ecclesall road. These are the cheapest places we found and very good at what they do with a quick turn-around. Expect to pay between £16 and £25 for the stretching.
A finished canvas is likely to cost between £40 and £70, and is on higher quality material with a better print finish than anywhere else you will find in Sheffield. I haven't found anywhere as cheap either.
