Psychological torture was allegedly applied to Irish terrorist suspects in teh 1970s - white noise, sensory deprivation, etc.

In a perfect world we wouldn't need to behave like this, but we're in an imperfect world. I'm rather torn about it - half of me takes the approach that once we start behaving like this the terrorists are half way to winning the war.

The other half of me basically expects my country's secret service to behave like this, because that's what we have them for. I want these people to be aroudn to do the nasty, dirty jobs that I don't want to even think about. I guess I'm a hypocrite. :(
