Don't laugh :hihi:

But I am now running a dog display team

It'll started out at the ill fated FrizbeeDogz events which I ran and had little interest, we found people wanted to watch and cheer the dogs on rather than get involved so since the first event at Potton (Bedfordshire) in May we have now added more to our routine and are building up a proper display team with events already being talked about for next year ;)

Trouble is four dogs isn't really enough we need two or three more dogs in the team, but for training purposes they must live within easy travelling distances of Chesterfield so we can practice the routines.

What is involved:

So far we don't get travelling expenses but by next year there is a very good chance that we'll get some, but for now travelling around the country is off your own back, however the camping at the venues (usually country houses) is free.

It doesn't matter if you and your dog haven't done tricks before as long as you are both willing to learn, we try to make a distinct difference between this and HTM and to do so try to encourage only tricks that use props, i.e. balls, loops, frizbees, skateboards etc.

Our last event at Dalemain House in the Lake District was really well recieved with hundreds of people watching and cheering the dogs on during there routine.

The routine at the moment is quite simple we start off with Kes pulling Neelix around on a trailer (we know have two trailers and are planning a race for the next event). After this Neelix dribbles his football and scores goals (another trick which will be improved in time as we get other dogs playing and sending one off the pitch with a red card). Following Neelix's football Chakotay jumps through Hula Hoops, FOUR at shoulder height (we are hoping to increase this to six before the next event and by the beginning of next year we should have a ring of fire to jump through), this is followed by our usual Frisbee display

Any takers, anyone want to join and train with Paul's Performing Pooches

What a fabulous idea! I bet the dogs have a ball with doing all the tricks. Just the sort of thing to keep a clever pooch out of mischief- and fun to watch too.

I'd volunteer a certain soppy GSD if I didn't think that she'd go at it like a bull in a china shop and squash the other performers!

The younger the better, especially with a Dalmation, for obvious reasons you could only teach tricks that don't involve jumping at that age.

Sounds to me like just the right sort of candidate.

Anyone interested please contact me via email

And we'll sort out a meeting soon to see what we can sort out

OK we've decided to run an evaluation training session on Wednesday 25th July between 11am and 1pm and on Saturday 28th July at the same times.

This will be held at Holmebrook Valley Park on the Outskirts of Chesterfield.

From M1
Leave at J30 and follow signs fo Chesterfield and when you reach the Chesterfield Bypass (Tesco will be on your right) turn right signed Sheffield, then follow last part of the following directions.

From A61 (Derby)
Pick up the Chesterfield Bypass at the first large roundabout (you'll know which it is there are roadworks), go straight ahead at the next roundabout (Tesco)

On reaching the Whittington moor roundabout take your second exit, B6050 then follow the directions at the bottom.

From Sheffield, at the Whittington Moor Roundabout, first roundabout on the outskirts of Chestefield take the B6050 (5th exit I think)

Follow this road for a couple of miles until it ends and turn left on the B6051, after 3/4 mile turn right onto Watermeadow lane

This lane will take you straight into the country park, go past the building on your left and park in the Car Park on the left immediately after it.

As I said originally we are looking for people to join us in putting on displays around the UK, only you know if your mobility prevents this as I have not met you!
Even if it does, a few extra hands holding the dogs, making a cuppa, helping with the teaching etc is always handy;)

You're best bet would be to come along to one of the evaluations and take it from there:)

I can't see why it would do that, there are quite a few pictures - are you on dial up?

Nope.. broadband - it's very odd I've tried it twice, then rebooted and tried again and it just crashed...

Very bizarre!
