Good signing.

According to BBC website, Robson has given up on Gravesen.

tosh13

He could not get into the starting 11 at QPR last week,so no great shakes there, if the guy thinks the Championship is easy let him & his Celtic team mates try a season & see how well they do.

Graveson sounds like a bit of an 'a' hole anyway! if he doesn't want to play for us then fair enough - let him get on with playing in Celtic Reserves!

Peripheral for Villa for the last couple of seasons (10 first team games 05/06) and on loan at Stoke most of last season.

Mind you, he has a drink driving conviction so I can see why Robbo bought him.

Take a look at the whole picture Longcol he spent 13 years at Villa so he wasn't such a bad player was he.

The whole picture would seem to be a player that never quite made it at the top level and has now reached his sell by date.

Robbo's "extensive contacts" seem to mainly consist of 4 year old tapes of MoTD.

Up to O'neill arriving he had nearly 10 years playing the PL I don't call that not made it at the top level.

Just a tiny, teeny, weeny little reminder.

You aren't in the PL.

So fat lot of good that is for you.

Has a pretty poor disciplinary record - not something Robbo is noted for sorting. Recent PL experience is largely knowing the inside out of the subs bench.

Finally Glenn Whelan has some competition for the title of 'Best Midfielder in Sheffield' though I'd still rather have Glenn.

Glenn Whealen and Lee Hendrie are very similar players, to be fair Hendrie has lost his way in the last couple of years, he was even on stokes bench a few games last season aswell, and Stoke wanted to terminate his loan at one point, this could be the fresh start that he needs, although like someone said, his disciplinary record leaves a lot to be desired.
All the best to the lad apart from when he's playing us.

Oh yes I forgot. What a stupid idea it would be to buy players with Premiership experience when we aren't in the Premiership. We may as well just buy lower league players all the time so we can have another 12 years in this division.

BoroughGal I asked the same question ,so why has my post asking for the post to be about the subject been deleted?? I am fed up with silly remarks from others on the footy threads, there is a banter thread but stupid banter one's keep popping up ,it's like being in the school yard again. So can we talk about footy.

I don't mind a bit of banter.

It's you that is moaning about receiving it yet you give it out yourself.

If you can't stand the heat etc etc.

Ah right I see....., silly me

Glenn Whealen and Lee Hendrie are very similar players, to be fair Hendrie has lost his way in the last couple of years,

In what way? One has had a decent career at the top echelons of English football, the other whilst still being relatively young has done nothing so far then have a decent season with Wednesday.

As for Stoke wanting to terminate his loan? Think you will find they wanted to take him permanantly

So next season Hendrie is likely to get about 4 goals and 7 yellow cards.

He has been bought to add steel to the midfield & although he is a little lad,he has plenty of pace & passes the ball really well, playing in the top flight for 13 years is no mean feat,Boro & Wigan & Derby were after him but he chose the Blades.

Longcol

,Boro & Wigan & Derby were after him but he chose the Blades.

As were Stoke, Leicester and Coventry- dunno if his choice was based on who paid him the highest wages or which manager would be most tolerant to his liking for the odd pint or eight (with chasers).

I'm always wary of the "experience" line - quite a lot of players are well capable of playing a few hundred games and not learning a great deal - and Hendrie leans more towards the Gazza rather than the Sheringham tendency.
