I bought a onn dvd player from asda for £34, with usb connection. The problem is that it will sometimes play a dvd disc then wont, I get an error bad disc even though it is the same disc that I have just played with no problems.
What could be going wrong?

If it's playing sometimes & not at others then maybe the lens needs cleaning? Although this shouldn't really happen with brand new players. You can buy dvd lens cleaning discs. Failing that take it back to asda for a refund or swap. Hope this helps.

I recently got a disc which wont start ie it just says "loading" then stops. Other discs play well in this player and the problematic disc plays on my computer. Does this sound like a lens cleaning issue? (Sorry to hijack your thread).

what's the USB connection for, out of interest? Can you plug in a flash stick and view videos from that?

Yes i plug my flash stick in it, its easy to load avi movies or photos from my computer on to my flash stick, then watch them on my tv.
