Rescued a mummy cat and her kitten today.

The mum is lovely, hardly more than a kitten herself. She's black with an orange tinge, absolutely tiny, short fur but with a huge fulffy persian type tail.
the kitten is a ball of fluff, and a tabby colour. dont know if it's a boy or a girl..seems about 6 weeks old.

We found them outside one of our buildings. Sadly there didn't seem to be any other kittens...don't know if there were to start off with or what happend there. took all day to coax them both out of this big bush. but mum is very friendly, just wants to come and have a fuss and a cuddle. kitten isn't very sure, sits and shakes! don't think she's seen people or been held so this could be fun! Never done this before, our other cats have been rescues but usually we've set out to get a kitten from the cpl!

At present the kitten is hiding under the photocopier! it did seem to respond to having its ears tickled earlier so there is hope....

Don't know why I posted this really just thought i'd like to tell you all really...!

don't know if we can keep them but yes they are so lovely, beautiful....just want to cuddle them. to think that theyve been in a bush during this horrid weather....mean evil person who kicked them out!

Well done glittery. I'd like to take on a cat, but my daughter and son-outlaw keep threatening to come and live with me and they already have three ...

I'm sort of waiting for one to take me on, I suppose, in the way that little mother has chosen you :)

i think she has...she's just lovely. she's downstairs in the office..and i want to scoop her and the kitten up and bringher upstairs...but i'm not allowed. Nor would it be good for my cat...unfriendly and unhappy enough as it is. dont know why....just very distant....
well if you'd like the cutest fluffiest tiniest kitten.....you know where i am!!!

got a piccy yesterday when they were both pretty much passed out in the bed but she was lying on top of the kitten! Would like to get one now but it's still in hiding. there are workmen near by so the dog keeps barking and the kitten is somewhere under the photocopier still! I'd found an enclosed cat basket and put that out so hopefully it will go in there. I'll get pics posted as soon as! I'm not sure they're going to a shelter...they might stay......lol

Finally got pictures of Gizzy just so adorable..I have them on facebook but how can I post them up on here??? We think mum may be pregnant again as her tummy is only getting bigger and you can feel lumps in it....
Gizzy learnt to play yesterday, I know it sounds strange but s\he was afraid of her/his own shadow previously. So cute playing following little bits of string, although mum isn't pleased with being pounced upon. Little bit has very sharp kitten claws! Haven't got a name for mum, cassie seems nice though...xxxx

We are going to give it a few weeks. It's not that we don't want them, just love them to bits but our 3 cats aren't so amused at them being here. if they still hate them then we will look at rehoming options with the CPL, but it also depends if the mum is pregnant then we just can't keep her and the kittens so then we will see aboutt he CPL keeping the kittens to rehome and maybe having mum back when she's done nursing.... Keep in touch tho and if we have any problems, the CPL will come out and visit you...a home check and then we can go from there! If you are looking for a cat and not desperately a kitten there are lots of 8/9 month old cats at the moment...who were christmas presents who need homes? xxxxx

I'm not trying to be offensive, but you're keeping them without a home check or anything, and in a place with 3 cats already. Yet you want whoever takes them to have a CPL home check?

If you don't really want them yourselves, why don't you give them to someone, who's offering a home, without all the palaver?

The hoops some of the rescue centres make people jump through to get a pet and the excessive amounts of money they charge for them, does put a lot of people off who could give a good home to an unwanted animal :(

if you think the mum might be pregnant I'd be tempted to get her checked at the vets as there may still be time to terminate

Perhaps glittery just doesn't want the responsbility of making sure they go to the right place, I can understand it to a degree.

I hope the cat and kitten get/have got a clean bill of health from the vet and find a loving home, whatever you do with them. :)

I've had one as I am with the CPL. I wasn't trying to be offensive, but someone mistreated them to start off with so I want to make sure they go to a home that will love them. I dont think that mum would cope with small children/dogs etc. I'm just trying to look out for them.

Never said we didn't want them, they're too cute and loving not to want them, just want the best for them and for my cats too. she's going to the vet tomorrow so will see what happens there. I'm not trying to upset anyone just said it as that is what will happen.

no offense taken ....i think it's a good idea in these days to ensure somehow they are going to a better place instead of just handing them over...you see some horrific sights where animals have been mistreat....I hope all goes well ;o)
