This is a genetic malfunction which caused Wendy to be 'double muscled' apart from a shorter life span they don't think it should affect her health and she's a happy little (or big!) dog which is all that matters...

Still a bit of an odd sight though bless her!

I think its really sad, the poor dog tooks dreadful. I just hope the genes don't pop up in the wrong hands

I think it's natural for us to think that at first, I did. But I don't think there really is need to think it sad, as her owner says she's happy and healthy - that's what matters.

But its possibly going to stunt the dogs life, thats the sad part

Do you mean shorten the lifespan? Because that's all that I saw. If it's actually going to affect her quality of life then I find that very sad.

Whilst I understand that it is sad, it's not like the dog knows anything about it... sorry if that sounds insensitive. I don't know what the average lifespan is for a whippet but large breeds have shorter lifespans as well so I guess it's not really any different.

One of the comments made on the website about breeding is quite concerning though....

i think if it is actually going to live a healthy and happy life no matter how short that may be then let it.

Every animal deserves to live, i know one of my friends just said they should put it to sleep but if its healthy then why kill it?
