Hello Knitters

I've been asked on short notice to arrange a big knitting, crochet and craft event. I'm looking for people who have a bit (or a lot) of skill and would like to show others how to do it too. If you are interested or you know someone else who might be please do not hesitate to email me!

Cakes & Crafts
Date: friday 3rd August
Time: 11am until 2pm
Location: Hallam Union , The HUBS

You will take part in a range of craft activities and meet Malaysian and Sri Lankan students who wish to learn to knit, crochet and generally craft;

help make blankets to be sent to the Topsy Foundation to support children from South Africa living with HIV/Aids
teach a young person how to knit or crochet
take part in a variety of other craft activities and hopefully have something of your own making to proudly display at home!

Do you think anybody would like to come along and help out? The basic idea is just to have a very pleasant afternoon of craft with the all important tea and cakes.

Hi I would be willing to come and help. I can bring a selection of yarns, needles and bits. Happy to do knitting and basic crochet.

Before I forget you will have to remind me. memory like a sieve.

Sounds great, I am not a speedy or experienced knitter by many standards, but I have recently taught my 6 year old niece to knit! I would love to come along.

Hello Curlyginger, Thank you for a fantastic time today, the girls did so well with their knitting, and we did complete some squares for your blanket, eventually. Did I hear correctly that you will collect more at the office in HUBS until the end of August? Maybe the kind SF knitters would do a few for you? Just let us know withestimated size preferred and I am sure we could oblige!

PS the cakes were delicious, and I have been trying to walk them off this afternoon!
