Gloucestershire have beaten Worcestershire to secure the first of the semi-final places.
Interestig development today was that the ECB, using some common sense, has allowed a second day for play in all four games to be completed if possible. The problem arose from storms which caused waterlogging at Trent Bridge where Notts were to entertain Kent. Rather than have a 'bowl-out', counties all agreed for the change of rule. The biggest stumbling block was Sussex v Yorks (Wed even'g) for an extra day there would mean the following day clashing with another Sussex fixture - given the increasing status of Twenty20, some flexibility has been agreed.
