As I walk round Sheffield (Walk as I can't drive anywhere due to congestion), I see more and more project which have been started but as yet are unfinished...
The station approach - hoardings still up, lamp posts still cordoned off...
The Inner Ring Road
The Moor
Lampposts still unlit despite being reported 8 months ago (and 7 and 6 and 5 and 4)
The Sharrowfail Parking Scheme - to be implemented in Spring 07 (no wait, Summer 07, no wait...)
Is there anywhere that there is a list of council projects and timescales?

So do I.It gets up my nose when people like you have only bad things to say about Sheffield. All the foreign visitors I come into contact with have nothing but praise for our city.

Why not catch the bus. They are so efficient, always on time and last but certainly not least - cheery bus drivers.
:hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:
I much prefer the approach of other cities. When they undertake a project they make the plans and then one night go out with a magic wand and make it happen instantaneously. Sheffield is rubbish!!!
Take the inner ring road for example, how long can it take to demolish loads of buildings re-route existing roads and lay tonnes of tarmac. Give me a shovel and I'll go finish it after my tea.
I'm fed up of these excuses. The latest one is the floods, I don't care if the building works are under 6 foot of water, put a snorkel on and get it finished.
In order to complete something you have to start something, you with me so far.... good.
As part of the process you will at some time or other be in a position where the 'something' will be half finished.
Crazy I know but there you go. :hihi::hihi:

Well they must have come from a fairly poor country. We have the worst roads in the country and are competing for the European title (if only our footie teams could.)
You are right there are a lot of good things about Sheff, the countryside, people etc but it is every council tax payers right to have a moan, and the council do not exactly help themselves when it comes to this.
On a lighter note, I live in the cut off village of Oughtibridge, where the main Middlewood Road is shut and would appear to be staying shut until I am a very old man. Normally I would be all angry and frustrated about this. BUT. It is lovely. Walked down there with my toddler last couple of weekends and is so nice and quiet. Walkers, cyclists alike all smiley faced enjoying the beautiful scenery and nice atmosphere. The only cars you encounter are those of the odd dodgy geyser in a Land Rover eyeing up the stone walls. On this one I say Keep the road shut Sheff Council. Its great!

Presumably these are geeky crane-spotters ?
Sheffield at the moment seems to be a magnet for them.
