As a counter to all the 'bus drivers are pillocks' type threads that appear on here, I'd just like to say thanks, publically, to the First driver who stopped to let me out of a side road today inspite of the fact that he would have been running late due to a long tail-back caused by faulty traffic lights.

As the rain was pelting it down causing very bad visibility, and the traffic was all over the place, I didn't get his reg number or route number.

What I do know though is that it was a single deck, First, going townwards on Barnsley Road passing Norwood Rd junction at about 3.40 ish this afternoon. Oh, and the fleet number was 60722.

I have not added this post to any existing threads because this, for a change, is positive towards bus drivers.

A big thanks mate, and I realise how p*ssed off you must have been at that moment.

Big up for the bus drivers who consider other road users.

The 's' is misplaced - it should be "bus driver who considers". You've encountered one in a lifetime's driving :hihi:

But congratulations to him/her anyway....I'll wager it was a 'her' ;)

So maybe I wasn't being let out, more likely the engine had stalled! :o :hihi::hihi:

Can you lay your hands on a flak-jacket and a tin helmet :D

A 43 driver today stopped so he didn't have to go through a big puddle and soak a girl standing at the side of the road - that struck me as thoughtful :)

Exactly, and seeing as how every little thing these drivers do wrong is paraded on here I reckon their positive actions should be noted as well.

I was once on a bus where the driver stopped to let a lad out to urinate at the side of the road and then back on, and continued as normal. Pretty considerate- if not a bit OTT. Or maybe he was just thinking of his seats' upholstery.

Well a couple of weeks ago I was on a bus which stopped at the Interchange when I thought it was going onwards. I didn't know this but the driver offered to drop me off on his way to the terminus anyway! That really was nice, as I suppose he could have got into trouble for it!
