Sorry to start a BNP related thread I know how much they annoy some people, but for those interested I thought this paragraph from the BNP website may be of concern/delight:

"We cannot confirm that Nick Griffin’s planned contest of David Blunkett’s constituency of Sheffield Brightside at the next general Election played any part in the Home Secretary’s decision to arrest Mr. Griffin."

My thoughts are with you Mr. Griffin. You are a hero speaking up for what we all really feel. Who are these people calling you a fascist? Look at these people arresting you in the middle of the night. Iwill vote for you

See that is what I'm talking about here...

Dangerous way to play things... let the have their say, the majority of people aren't stupid enough to believe it. If you silence them people will think there is something to hide.

EVEN Blunkett will wipe the floor with him, though.

He was arrested at 7.00 am making it the morning, but I'm sure this wont be the last inaccuracy we will all be reading from BNP supporters/members in the next few months. Especially since this website has come to the attention of the far right thanks to the efforts of Roy James. It's been labelled a 'Marxist forum' by redwatch no less.

Incidentally within hours of Derek H giving in his resignation from the BNP the BNP supporters site Red Watch had labelled him a traitor and published his home address and phone number. Personally I'd think twice before pledging my support for Griffin and the BNP when it means involving oneself with people who consider fire bombing opponents and 'traitors' car a legitimate method of political campaigning.

I'd like to see Sheffield free of the politics of hate.

The somali contingent seem to be the worst influx we have ever had. I know black friends who look down & hate these people. Discuss

The BNP are not bothered only about "refugees" "immigrants" and "asylum seekers". They also hate the thousands of people who have lived here for generations who happen to have been born with a darker skin than Griffin and Tyndale. Their party policy is to "encourage" them to go home, but where is "home" for someone who was born here and has parents who were born here?

The BNP are hiding behind the media-hyped concern a lot of the public have about the numbers of asylum seekers, when in actual fact the BNP won't be happy until there are no non-white people living on these islands.

While I want to make sure this thread stays on topic and that we move away from personal insults I can't help but wonder if Nick Griffin ever looks in the mirror at his gammy, inbred endued, 'dodgy' eye:

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/allnews/tm_objectid=14976169%26method=full%26siteid=50143% 26headline=bnp-boss-arrested-for-racism-name_page.html

And just wishes, quietly to himself, that he'd come from diverse gene pool rather then his 'racial pure' heritage which has left him looking amongst other things unelectable. Or will his love of state conspiracy theories going to suggest the state imposed white only inbreeding upon his family as part of a Yushchenko esque plot.

Immigrants - people moving home from one country to another, for any reason.

Refugees - people seeking refuge

Asylum Seekers - people seeking asylum

Asylum=refuge.

Compared to the number of immigrants to this country, the number of refugees arriving here is pathetically small and really not worth getting worked up about.

Immigrants are mostly white professionals from Australia, Ireland, the USA & Canada and the rest of northern Europe. If any immigrants are here "to take our jobs" it's these people - but you rarely hear the party beloved of misanthropists and sociopaths mouthing off about it.

Our net inflow:outflow ratio is about 500,000 in and 400,000 out every year, so a net increase due to migration of approximately 100,000 annually.

Although both influx and exodus figures are increasing year on year.

refugees have got asylum - its being granted
can you tell i went to "asylum seeker and refugee awareness training " the other day??:D

Phanerothyme
14-12-2004, 15:46
erm.

Surely a refugee is someone who has fled their country of domicile? They may not have arrived anywhere, and they may not have reached a refuge yet.

I guess working definitions for training purposes require clear demarcations - but IMO "asylum seeker" is a recent phrase that has been so soaked in perjorative connotations as to be useless.

And asylum is, etymologically, a place where even thieves and criminals are safe from harm or capture - which is not the sort of thing we are talking about.

Closing this topic as it's basically turning in to a general discussion about the BNP and asylum, rather than the issue of the BNP's leader standing in Sheffield.

We've had general BNP/immigration topics (in the General Chat forum) many times before. Go and read all the existing topics - that will save us all repeating ourselves.
